You don’t need a large garden to enjoy growing your own flowers or creating a small herb garden. Terracotta pots are a lovely way to grow flowers and herbs throughout the summer with relatively low maintenance.

I have a little area in my garden where I keep terracotta pots I’ve collected over the years. Some have developed a beautiful mossy patina that gives them a wonderful weathered look. I usually fill them with various herbs and seasonal annuals throughout the summer.

I was so excited to be asked by the lovely of Cece Bowman Interiors to create a lush urn arrangement for the entrance table at Design to Dine charity event where she was a keynote speaker.

I focused on gestural foliage and blooming branches, using a seasonal mix of myrtle, forsythia and beautiful viburnum and then detailed with Spanish moss. The greens gently spilled over the urn, creating a sweeping organic effect across the table Cece so beautifully styled.

Dogwood is on full bloom, and it always reminds me of a serendipitous moment at the flower market a few years back. I was searching for blooms for a late April wedding working with the loveliest bride who gave me complete creative freedom to design floral arrangements for her intimate wedding. Her only request was to include the color red - a very unexpected choice for spring flowers, and the first time a bride asked me to lean into something so bold! I really wanted to get it right.

Just as I was about to checkout, I noticed a beautiful bundle of red dogwood. It felt like one of those meant - to - be moments. I weaved the dogwood into her bouquet adding texture, bridging color with hellebores, roses and other textural greens. The bouquet looked natural and unexpected.

That bridal bouquet has remained one of my favorites, and it’s a wonderful reminder that when a bride places her trust in her florist, something beautiful happens.

Fab collab! I partnered with Shynae of to create a lovely 3 oz travel candle in a tin. This soy wax candle is infused with nostalgic, romantic rose scent that feels like walking through a summer garden.

Pair it with a beautiful box of matches designed by .design, and you have the sweetest gift - or a little treat just for yourself.
