Ómós, a 16-room guesthouse and restaurant led by chef Cúán Greene, opened this summer in Abbeyleix, Ireland. Interior architects Asca Studio and Relief Gallery led the lighting design, drawing on fixtures from five of our collections across guest rooms, the restaurant, and shared spaces in the guesthouse. The scheme treats light as part of the interior architecture, pacing the guests’ movement through the property and tying together the art and hardware selections.

In the entry, the Flora Chandelier anchors the space, casting warm light across the arrival area. The Up Down Sconce runs through the corridors, its interchangeable components and range of finishes well suited to a project at this scale.

The Murano Glass Orb Surface Mount in Goto Bianco, installed bedside at Casa Tabarelli. Its diffuser is crafted by Laguna~B’s master glassmakers in Murano, using carefully selected glass canes layered over a solid color background. The technique draws on goti de fornasa, an improvisational tradition among Venetian glassmakers who used leftover glass to create drinking vessels in unexpected colors, patterns, and shapes.

The Glass Up Down Sconce brings hand-blown glass shades to our original Up Down silhouette. Installed in pairs along a corridor at Casa Tabarelli, the glass catches and diffuses light in both directions, while Scarpa’s tinted ceilings shift from yellow to teal overhead.

The Murano Glass Orb Pendant and Up Down Sconce, in Chamomile. Produced in the millefiori tradition, in which patterned glass rods are cut and arranged in cross-section to form a floral field, the Chamomile finish draws from the same Murano glassmaking tradition Scarpa worked within during his fifteen years as Creative Director of Venini Glassworks.

The Arundel Mushroom Pendant pairs a metal shade with a hand-blown glass diffuser, the same glass used across pendants, surface mounts, and table lamps throughout the Core Collection. Installed in Pewter at Casa Tabarelli, it hangs from one of Scarpa’s sloping ceilings, each tinted a different color from room to room, following the contours of the surrounding landscape.
