It’s snowing 🌨️ (again, ugh.) so it’s time to crack open a book and relax up to a new read and some great art. Picked up this hardcover over the holidays on a Black Friday sale. Fantastic Four: Full Circle written and illustrated by Alex Ross, 2022.

Heavy Metal Magazine issue 82 (Volume 7, Issue 10), 1984. Cover by Mitch O’ Connell. Kind of an odd/weird one, but it’s a birthday book for me! At least by publication date anyways.

So much great “on display” at - scrolled through my phone and picked 20 snaps I took among many (too many I took had bad glare though for framed stuff, I’m not a professional)! From Frazettas, to Bells, to Palumbos, to Hildebrants, Juskos and much more, too many to name them all. I must have checked out the special galleries like 5 times - IAX, CAX, Korshak Collection, Collections In Black, Rohrwild Collection, and others plus auction house displays (Hakes etc.), and a few vintage comic art shots thrown in! A feast for the eyes that isn’t done Justice in pictures versus in person, but here’s a small look.

Oh man was an absolute blast!! I was super bummed to miss the first edition last year due to health/injury, and had to get well enough in time to make it for Year 2. The art was great, but the hangouts were even better! More posts to come from the show, including art stuff, but first it was all about the people and spending time with fellow collectors. Huge thanks Bill Cox to and the rest of the team behind the event for the best focused comic culture show and best OA show that I’ve ever been to. Unfortunately other people took more photos (with me jn them) than I did, and I likely missed meeting everyone it was possible to meet or that I should have taken the time to meet and talk to, but hopefully next time! here’s a few pics I gathered from others so far (if you see this and have pics that include me, please send my way! 🙏🏽), plus some candid/stealth shots I took now and then. Hanging out with on his channel tonight for a Comic Art Show & Tell episode at 8 PM ET! I’ve been on Ruben’s channel several times in the past but never for a show and tell episode focused on my collection. Should be a fun time chatting and looking at art from my CAF page that Ruben selects - join us live or catch it on rewind!.

Only 1 day of for me this year, Day 4 Sunday! Check out my “cosplay”, this will be off my face in about 10 mins lol. Been here 20 mins already sort of want to leave but I’ll be hobbling around in painful discomfort for a few hours before heading home. Let’s see what the day brings!

Happy Batman Day 🦇!!! Grabbed these 3 Chip Zdarsky written Batman storylines from the library as my to celebrate! Also thoroughly enjoyed the first episode of The Penguin on HBO/Max. Both my inner Sopranos and Batman fanboys were extremely satisfied so far, very promising series, 10/10 for episode 1 🙌🏾.
