What a busy couple of days for Williams Road Woodworking!

We started the weekend Friday night at the Newport Community Market, followed by a great day today showing our products at Boynton’s Greenhouse in Skowhegan. Then it was back home and right back into the shop!

Tonight we put the final coat of poly on our Walnut & Yellowheart flight boards for Benjamin’s Oktoberfest next weekend, finished up two of our Maple & Padauk candy cane serving dishes, and wrapped up these beautiful solid one-piece Maple boards — 20” long, 10” wide and nearly 1” thick!

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, checked out our work, made a purchase, or simply took the time to talk with us. Your support of our family business means so much!

Making some progress. Candy canes are cut, they need to be sanded and treated, flight boards have been sanded to 220 and have two coats of poly on them. The poly really makes that yellow heart stand out against the walnut.

Made up some maple and yellow heart boards today along with along with a couple flight boards made out of walnut and yellow heart. Still need some finishing work done and more shaping on the maple board handles. Those boards are massive, 10” wide and 20” long.

Gluing together some wood for candy cane shaped serving boards for the upcoming shows. These will be maple and Padauk, can’t wait to see how they come out when they are done.

We made a couple 6x14 boards today using yellow heart wood and added some decoration to the bottom. This wood has beautiful yellow and pink tones in it.

We have been busy in the shop this week. Trying new things and filling customer requests for custom orders. Went to a historical society to look at some slabs of wood from an elm tree that was removed to install a fishway quite a few years ago. Making benches using epoxy and steel legs. Refinishing dining room sets.
