Ahhh Minnesota - so many fun and fascinating facts, jokes and quirky things that makes us what what we are. Recently I saw a MN list of jokes and happy sayings. This one made me chuckle -
Minnesota, glove it or leave it.
That will be truer than true as the days roll on….

Open the front cover and you’ll read that it’s dedicated to some people in Wisconsin and in memory of Vicki, who hated the Packers…
It lists some fun pitstops across the state from Willie, the walleye and Baudette, to Darwin for that largest ball of twine, Rothsay to see the giant Prarie chicken, Olivia and the world‘s largest ear of corn, our pants-less friend, Pierre along the Highway in Two Harbors and north to Eveleth to see the largest freestanding hockey stick.
Did you know that Minnesota was the site of one of the first car bombings? Back in 1928, Irish mob boss “Dapper” Danny Hogan was mortally wounded.
I never knew there was an open season on frogs each year. It runs from March 31 to May 16, if they are intended to be used as bait. 
Can you guess the number of serious Wolf attacks recorded in Minnesota history?
The answer is one. But if you find yourself needing a guard animal, such as a donkey, read up on some Minnesota statutes.
There were at least four movies or shows that were set in Minnesota, but were shot other places… while Little House on the Prairie is the top favorite in our family- The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends set in Frostbite Falls (a tongue and cheek nod to international Falls) still makes us smile.
Did you know that the Minnesota State University Morehead’s athletic team were originally known as the “Fighting Pedagogues” (the art of science and teaching)?
Back in 1949 Santa Claus visited Grand Marias by airplane but accidentally crashes into the town movie theater. Thankfully Santa emerged unhurt, but there’s no word on the fate of any presents aboard….
Yesterday I met a lady from Detroit Lakes. She’s got a special job with her other half as Santa and Mrs. Claus. I got to see a couple photos. I should’ve asked her if they’ve flown into any towns recently….

It might be a good day to create a playlist with MN music such as Soul Asylum, Judy Garland, Bob Dylan, The Jayhawks, Sophie Hokiro, The Replacements, Trampled By Turtles, Atmosphere, Lizzo, Prince, and a little Hüsker Dü.
It’s also filled with fun facts on fishing. Some of them might be a far stretch of a fishtale. While I can’t guarantee no fish stories in our shop, I can guarantee these fun fish bracelets.
