Under the same moon, some are dreaming, some are healing, and some are quietly learning to slow down. 🍂

Today we welcome Waatebagaa-giizis(changing leaves moon). A time honored with the grandest of colors.

Recently I updated the autumn bunch in the entryway, tucked in the candleholder. Pop in your vase or container at home, or purchase with the light and sunset candleholder.

Two custom wired bunches headed out the door for Kimberly’s leaf container on her wall. She’s all set until she comes back in the spring.

Our little friend Jimothy has retuned. Once again bringing joy to others, just doing his own thing.
This time he brought with a new friend, who’s a bit loonie… MN made by our friend Sarah.

In the stillness of the forest, every tree whispers that growth takes time, yet each season brings new strength. 🍂🌲

Blink and you probably missed it. New this summer was our 16 inch battery operated (with timer) tree. Set on a window ledge, mantle, bathroom counter, bookcase or anywhere you need a bit of joy.

Ken’s books are all restocked. Orders shipping today. What an amazing book for the grandkids, the graduate and the coffee table.

A reminder to head across the street this afternoon from 3 to 6 at Big Ax to paint a rock for the Kindness rock garden in the park.

Bird is the word that ol Jimothy will make a return to the bowl soon.

On this day- one amazing puppeteer, producer, director and filmmaker was born back in 1936, Jim Henson.

What a legacy that lives on in his work and wise words.

Shelly was in recently to have her big tray and vase updated….we’ve joked for years…and it finally happened. Out with the old and in with the new.

When doing big trays like this it was perfect to coil a garland to fill as the base for greens. Then cutting apart those simple stems and adding back a couple pinecones and her lantern.

I trust a person who gets excited about rocks.
They're the kind of people who still find magic in the little things, who stop to admire something most people would would walk right past, and who can find a little piece of wonder almost anywhere.
They probably have a pocket full of rocks, a heart full of curiosity, and absolutely no regrets about bringing every single one home. 🪨

I love that saying.

Wonderful news, many have recently discovered- our fab book, when you find the right rock is back on the shelves. Such a cool message. (although talking into my phone changed cool to Kuehl….hmmm Julie are you in my phone?)

A great book for the rock lover, lover of life and one who may need a reminder life sure has us crawling over and under some big boulders.

A super cool new addition to Nisswa and our pocket park across the street. Gail has headed up a Kindness Rock Garden. Pick one up or leave one for someone else. This Friday you can stop by Big Axe from 3-6 to paint one for the garden. Gail will keep it w**d free and seal stones when needed. If you see her out in the community, please tell her thank you!

It’s so cool to be kind.

Recently I found a handful of rocks tucked in the corner of my bench. So thankful for the treat. They are now part of my mushroom display behind the counter.

Here’s a few of my favorite rocks we’ve seen this summer-

If you get a chance to go to St. John’s in Collegeville, take a walk-through their Arboretum and then head into the campus to walk the trail by the Stone arch.

Mr. Creative found us this super cool owl rock on a Sunday Funday. Somedays the adventure itself knows you are where you need to be.

The Autumn Equinox-
the exact moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator
and we move into the darker half of the year.
In old Irish tradition, autumn wasn't just one day.
It was a passage.

It reminds us that not everything is meant to keep growing forever.
Somethings are meant to be gathered, some things are meant to be celebrated some things are meant to be released, and some things are meant to go quiet for a while.

Tonight autumn arrives in Nisswa at 7:05 pm.

So today we hang on to the joys of summer a bit longer while welcoming one of my favorite seasons.

I hope you find some balance in your day, where nothing is competing.

Wonderful to see several of you yesterday. And thrilled the glass pumpkins caught your eye like they did mine. I’ll have the last of them in the shop with me today.

Last night I created a new arrangement for the end of the counter as the one I did last week found a new home. Cozy, warm and autumn vibes with this mix.

Happy International Peace Day!

In honor of the good vibes we hope to share with everyone, a day to hear the bells ring for peace.

Two of our favorite peace bells hang in the shop behind the counter. I’ve so enjoyed hearing where you’ve put your bell. A slight breeze like this morning I can hear mine in the distance with a jingle jangle for peace.

So today I wanted to share a cool place I know many have been, yet some have not. A peaceful place high in the hills of Duluth near Enger tower sits the Japanese Peace Bell Garden.

Here’s a brief little backstory -

During World War II, the Japanese government instructed villages to donate metal to be melted down for ammunition. Ohara Isumi-City dismantled their city's prized Buddhist temple bell. By the end of the war, the bell was still intact and a naval crew from the USS Duluth carried it to Duluth and it became a gift to the City.
In 1954, the ancient Buddhist temple bell was returned to Ohara Isumi-City.
In 1993 Ohara Isumi-City presented Duluth with a replica of the bell, which now resides in this park.

Patience is not waiting, it is how we act while waiting. 🍂

Wonderful to see many of you yesterday. Lots of good visits and vibes from New Hope, Forest Lake, Two Harbors, Bemidji, Aitkin, several lovelies from Iowa, Omaha (a sweet story for another day), and many from just down the road.

Several comments from people mentioning how wonderful Nisswa puts on events! 👏

My heart goes out to those who chatted and shared where life’s got them these days.. know we think of you.

A handful of bells and beads headed out the door yesterday. I think everyone agreed we all need a little jingle jangle and razzle dazzle in our lives.

A new book snuck into the shop recently, Secrets of the Forest. A great read for any age.

Many of you picked up a few magnets over the past couple days. Here’s a handful of more MN made goodies.

Unfortunately, the potpourri bowls are looking a little empty. They will be all refreshed and smelling amazing by Tuesday afternoon.

Happy Fall Festival day here in Nisswa. Oh my gourd, hard to believe it’s here!

Our pots are planted inside and out, and our new pumpkins are so very pretty with the golden glow of autumn.

As I did with our cast iron pinecones, our new glass pumpkins are open on the bottom- so I popped in a small rechargeable light.

So cool on the mantle, sofa table, kitchen island or wherever you’d like a cozy glow.

A few assorted sizes and styles ranging from 8" × 9.5" down to 7.5" × 6".

Enjoy a walk through town, join in on the pie eating contest, awesome music and shop small.

The wisdom you seek, is in the stillness you avoid. 🍂

Lots of fall-lalala-ing up for clients yesterday and a couple little arrangements for the shop as well.

This new pot has been a great go to for size, shape and being that neutral cream. About 6 inches tall.

Yesterday I had a sweet client in from Emily and I created an arrangment for her in this pot using the new copper wire fairy lights and a mix of autumn greens. As we were chatting nature, she mentioned she saw a wolf on the way down here. It’s been the second time in the same place. How very lucky to see that!

At the end of the day I created this arrangement for the shop, similar with the copper fairy lights and “neutral Nancy pot”.

I love the autumn mix. Sweet tucked anywhere.

When I got home this stunning candleholder was waiting for me. Here’s a few photos of both light on vs. off. The small rechargeable light fit fits perfectly in there. It measures about 6 inches tall.

By tomorrow I’ll also have back in all 3 sizes of the deer/sunset candleholder. The golden color of the sunset and cozy glow seemed to catch everyone’s eye Monday.

One minute you're young and fun, the next you've got beef with a squirrel eating your fancy birdseed. 🍂

Our new feisty salt and pepper shakers have made many of you smile. I refer to them as ol’ Mork and Mindy. Those two were a bit squirrley in the best of ways. You can pop our new friends on a shelf for fall decor, or use them for a bit of whimsy.

I often think about how wonderful Robin Williams was, so giving to others- often times referred to as quiet kindness. Did you know a contract rule he had required productions to hire unhoused people as extras or staff, helping over 1,500 individuals get back on their feet. We’ve had several amazing conversations this week in the shop about thinking of others not just ourselves. I love that our talks take our giant circle and connect us in the most unique ways and conversations.

I created another autumn bunch for the entryway. This one is a bit taller. You can pop it in your own vase, basket or pick up one of our candleholders with the light as well. So many happy tones to fall mixed together.

Yesterday a customer was shopping before meeting her husband in town. He was biking down from Walker on the good ol Paul Bunyan Trail. Next week he will be celebrating a milestone birthday. She mentioned he just recently was found to be cancer free. After much debate, she settled on our metal bike, with the be strong magnet and of course Cindy’s Paul and Babe biking magnet- that started the whole creating of the gift. A very cool glimmer for sure!

Bird is the word all our prints from Tim are back in the box restocked including Olivia Miles, Anthony Edwards, and the new Justin Jefferson. By next week, there will be a new addition to my shelves. We can’t wait to share.

The soap has all been refilled, including the Linden and Starflower which are now back in the shop.

Our 8 x 8 peace sign print is back in its box.

The Pumpkin Thief has also been restocked.

I am down to the last cast iron pinecone candle holder for the year. If you are looking for a wow for your dining room table, kitchen island or wherever you’d love a little light, stop in and check it out or let me know.
