Loving your enemies doesn’t mean pretending they didn’t hurt you.

It doesn’t mean trusting them again.
It doesn’t mean removing healthy boundaries.
And it doesn’t mean calling evil good.

Jesus calls us to something harder: refuse hatred, let go of revenge, pray for those who hurt us, and leave justice in God’s hands.

Because their actions don’t have to determine who you become.

What if “deny yourself” doesn’t mean what most people think it means?

Jesus wasn’t simply telling us to give up possessions, pleasures, or things we enjoy. He was calling us to something much deeper: surrendering our right to be the center of our own lives.

“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” — Luke 9:23

Our desires. Our plans. Our ambitions. Our priorities. Following Jesus means placing all of them under His leadership.

Because following Jesus isn’t adding Him to the life you’ve already chosen.

It’s giving Him the right to lead it.

Changing your actions is one thing. Changing the way you think is another.

Romans 12:2 says, “Be transformed by the renewal of your mind.”

Renewing your mind means allowing God’s truth to replace the thinking the world—and your old life—taught you. As His Word reshapes your thoughts, it begins to change how you see yourself, face temptation, and respond to difficult circumstances.

Transformation isn’t just about trying harder. It begins with learning to think differently.

God doesn’t only want to change what you do. He wants to change the way you think.

How do you know if the Holy Spirit is leading you—or if you’re simply following your own feelings?

Being led by the Spirit isn’t about chasing feelings or signs. He leads us according to God’s Word, away from the flesh, and toward obedience to Christ.

The evidence isn’t just what you feel—it’s the direction your life is moving.

God doesn’t tempt us to sin—but He does allow us to face temptation.

And He gives us this promise:

Temptation may test your faith, but it never takes away your choice to obey God.
