Please keep my sweet Snickers in your prayers. ❤️
I had to drop her off at the vet’s office this morning for observation, and I’ve been on edge ever since. I’ve been sick to my stomach worrying about her. Honestly, I’d rather pitch a tent ⛺️ and camp outside the vet’s office than be away from her.
Update: Dr. Carly called me with some news about Snickers. She’s a little more perky today, but they found two bladder stones that are causing significant irritation to her bladder. Because of this, Dr. Carly wants to schedule her surgery for next week and doesn’t want to wait any longer.
If anyone feels led to help with the cost of her surgery, it would be deeply appreciated. Donations can be made through my Venmo or by calling the vet’s office directly.
To make a long story short, another veterinary clinic quoted us nearly $3,000 for the surgery, which we simply couldn’t afford to pay all at once. Unfortunately, we didn’t feel much compassion there, even after explaining that Snickers is my service animal.
Over the past 3½ months, we’ve watched her health decline so quickly. She has lost more than 2½ pounds, her eyes began turning a creamy white, and she became nothing but skin and bones. She had to wear a diaper whenever we went out in public, and I had to carry her in her sling. We truly feared we were going to lose her if we didn’t find help soon.
Thankfully, a friend recommended another veterinary clinic, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better veterinarian. Dr. Carly has been amazing—knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely concerned about Snickers. The cost of surgery at this clinic is much more affordable, but it’s still over $1,400.
I’m incredibly grateful for the kindness that’s already been shown. One friend has donated toward her surgery, and one of my customers even gave me the last $10 he had in his wallet to help Snickers. Every act of generosity means the world to us.
If you’re able to donate anything toward her surgery, no matter the amount, we would be forever grateful. If you’re unable to give, your prayers, shares, and positive thoughts are just as appreciated.
Thank you all so much for loving and caring about my sweet girl. ❤️
