current Wip

Just one current work in process - said no quilter ever.
I have 6 identical quilts in the works for my kids, my , and I have several pending to be longarmed as well but the most important quilt to finish up right now is for my husband finishing his MBA that I started when he decided to go back to college for his associates and now here we are celebrating an MBA!! Love that we can set goals anytime in life and finish them.

As a longarm quilter my favorite tools include rulers and my forever growing array of thread and their coordinating bobbins. I love my bobbin and ruler holder it fits perfectly on my innova when I am running and holds everything I need in one place. When I am piecing the seam roller makes working with open seems move along in no time :) anything time saving is always a blessing

My favorite quilting book is by this is my go to book when I am looking for inspiration on how to quilt a quilt block .. from simple to complex the designs in this book give a great starting point

Best tip ever has been to embrace your own creativity —sometimes we can focus so much on the pattern or the finished product of someone else that the process of getting there that we love can get lost. Enjoy the process whether that’s the piecing, quilting, binding or all of it !!

Why do I quilt ?
I quilt because it brings me JOY.
Quilting blends creativity, with unique story telling that takes a moment in time and makes a very useable and beautiful quilt for my friends, and family to enjoy.

I have been a longarm quilter going on almost a decade and by far this is still my favorite part of the process. I love every minute of being a part of transforming beautiful quilt tops into usable quilts. When I am longarming there is an added layer of color, texture and depth that can be developed into each quilt design.

Day 2 of Oh wow, my first quilt — It has been over 25 years since I ventured out to make my first quilt, and it of course all started out with the joy of a new baby! are always the best! These are those projects that celebrate a joyous occasion and generally are a quick project to complete. I do recall that first quilt taking a whole lot of time, and I didn’t think I would ever make another quilt after that. Sadly, no photos of that one

My true love for quilting though started with the brilliant idea of taking a quilting class to expand on what I was already doing with making children’s pillow books, and just like that, I was hooked. My first piecing class was held , my local quilt shop, which, like any good quilter, is still unfinished. I didn’t finish that quilt, but I also didn’t stop piecing. Eventually, I genuinely went off the deep-end, and the first quilt that I pieced, quilted, and bound was a full-size quilt completed all on my domestic as a gift for my mother, which she surprisingly still uses to this day. — swipe to the end to see this magical finish—thanks goodness with practice we just get better
