Studio/market update⬇️
I have been out of my studio a lot this July working behind the scenes doing makeup on a variety of commercials which has posed a challenging balance between work, life, and health (especially in this heat 🥵). This week I have a very hectic production schedule with work/travel so I will not be vending this coming Saturday 7/25 at the mcm.montwellcommons

After getting some much needed rest upon my return, I plan to spend a considerable amount of time over the next month focusing on fabricating new jewelry to replenish inventory that has not only sold in my pop up shop, but also revamp my collections at MerryWeather's & Wolf Creek.

My tiny art takes time, patience, and a tremendous amount of focus to make perfect and sometimes I just need a little reset between switching my brain from one career to the next. The older I get the more introverted I’ve become and have learned I need a good bit of downtime after being chatty with the public on market days or after giving my undivided attention to the cast and crew in my production world. As a neuro-spicy individual, I’m determined to avoid creative burnout and need to remember I’m just a human who sometimes needs to step away from work to take a dip in the river, immerse myself in nature, nap with my kitties, laugh with friends, or sleep in on a Saturday morning. In my experience, my best ideas have always come to me when my mind is calm, my nervous system is regulated, and I’ve made it through yet another perpetually awful luteal phase. Only then do I truly feel my creativity can flow naturally into fresh, innovative designs that I love sharing with you all 🫶🏻💎

Greenbrier Valley Pride 2026🌈2025🌈2024🌈2023🌈2022🌈2021🌈

It rained heavily during vendor set up yesterday with forecasted storms looming on the horizon. I strongly considered packing up before even unloading my car due to the potential risk of Mother Nature’s fury, but the rainy skies cleared just in time for the market to open and I’m so happy I stayed to share my art with y’all for the 6th year in a row!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to my long time fans, new friends, and all who’ve supported my small business over the past 6.5 years. If you’re new to my journey or curious of how it all started, I began Mick’s Media Jewelry simply as a creative outlet when my job in the movie biz halted during the pandemic. Today I balance a busy schedule between working behind the scenes on set as a professional makeup artist and meticulously handcrafting jewelry in my home studio with pop up shops nearly every weekend. In 2021 I took the plunge and shared my jewelry with the world for the first time ever at the inaugural Greenbrier Valley Pride and the experience forever pivoted the trajectory of my life in the most meaningful way. I wouldn’t be where I am now without y’all’s unwavering support over the years and for that I am eternally grateful 🥹

Where there’s a storm, there’s a rainbow 🌈✨

[Weather permitting] I hope to be a little ray of sunshine as an artisan vendor selling my wares for the 6th year in a row at Greenbrier Valley Pride today! This is a family friendly event appropriate for all ages with lots of fun festivities ✨ I hope y’all come out to holler with pride, jam out to an epic performance by Joselyn & the Sweet Compression, shop local businesses, and discover supportive outreach resources. I’m a proud ally of the LGBTQA+ community and I will not tolerate hate in my holler so let’s have a safe and peaceful day showering the world in love and acceptance ✨

Found on the beach. Made on the beach ✨🐚💎⚒️

This past week, I challenged my creativity (and patience 😅) by bringing my work with me to the sandy, salty, and breezy seashore. I used minimal tooling, a few disassembled thrifted bracelets from a local boutique on the island, and treasures discovered washed up by the waves 🌊🏖️🐚

Some might say I’m a “Clever Girl” 😉

This unique pendant took all the Jack’s of my trades to make starting with a silicone mold using my SFX makeup skills and finishing with casting this authentic dinosaur raptor tooth in fine silver!

Thank you so much Rockhounds Authentic⛏ for sending this rare fossil my way ✨ It’s my new favorite conservation piece and everyday wear 🫶🏻

The bulbs I planted in my yard a few years ago continue to bloom every year on her birthday 🥹
