Lucy is found in Margate City, New Jersey, and was voted the best roadside attraction. Lucy is a building that is six stories tall and is built in the shape of an elephant. You can find her near Atlantic City, and you can go inside and explore the rooms once lived in by James V. Lafferty and his family. We know the Worlds Largest Laundromat isn’t very sexy and exciting, but it is a great opportunity to get your clothes cleaned. Located in Berwyn, Illinois, it is over 13,500 square feet and has over 300 washers and drivers. There’s.a snack bar, a play area for kids, video arcade games, and a gift shop as well as an indoor birdhouse. When you are on the road, sometimes you need a spot to just get a load of clothes washed and dried. Visit the World’s Largest Laundromat that never closes! And bring along your safety supplies just in case.

The Seven Magic Mountains can be found about 10 miles south of Las Vegas Blvd. and Saint Rose Parkway in Henderson, Nevada. There are seven boulder totems that stand up to 35 feet out in desert land. They are painted neon colors and were created as an art installation by Ugo Rondinone. The lease for this art installation will expire in December 2026. That gives you a few months to go and explore and take some pictures before it potentially is removed. Free to visit, know that there are no facilities nearby so plan accordingly. Enjoy the road trip and be safe. Bring your supplies with you just in case.

Mother’s Day is almost over, but it is always a great idea to take some time to explore with mom. Road trips are great times to talk and connect, no matter where you are headed. Consider driving with mom to the Grayson Highlands State Park in the unincorpórate community of Mouth of Wilson in Virginia. Of course beautiful countryside, but the biggest bonus of the park are the ponies. These ponies were introduced in the 70s to graze the land and prevent it from becoming overgrown. Don’t forget they are wild animals so don’t try to pet or feed them. Enjoy your . Consider when you travel and bring along emergency supplies.

In Michigan, you can drive through what is known as the Tunnel of Trees. This stretch runs from Harbor Springs to Cross Village. It is a beautiful 20 mile stretch of driving. However, in early April, 2026 a section of this road washed out from flooding. This is one of the reasons why we take with us an emergency kit. Just in case an unexpected challenge or safety concern find us. We hope the Tunnel of Trees road is fixed soon and we hope you will be there to see the beauty of the trees. Be safe, everyone. Take a drive to Marionville, Missouri to see the white squirrels. Some say they are descendents of an escaped pair from the circus in the 1930s. Some say these white squirrels are just a genetic mutation of grey squirrels. What do you think? And can you see the grey squirrel in the picture? Camouflage works well! Wow. They have some fancy road side stops in Montana! Check out the St. Regis Travel Center off of I-90. Besides all of the regular items you might find at a travel center, this one includes a 2000 gallon trout aquarium with four types of trout. They are beautiful. And it is relaxing to watch them swim while sipping on your huckleberry shake. Worth the stop! Bring along your emergency kit if you have any challenges on the road.

In the heart of Atlanta, Georgia is a tourist hub worth visiting. Named the Pemberton Place after John Pemberton who invented Coca-Cola, I is a one stop shop for road trippers. Stop by the World of Coca-Cola which is a fancy museum. Next you can explore the National Center for Civil and Human Rights which has interactive exhibits that connect people to the history of the Civil Rights Movement. Then you can end your day by checking out the Georgia Aquarium. Some of these might use timed entry so you might want to schedule your day around those options. A good drink, a little bit of history, and some interesting meet-ups with penguins, sea lions, sharks and whales. Travel safely and don’t forget to throw your emergency kit into the car to keep you safe just in case.

In Plaquemine, Louisiana, right off the banks of the Mississippi River, you will find the Madonna Chapel. It has been recognized by “Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” as the smallest church in the world. It is nine feet by nine feet. The church was built in 1903 by Italian farmer named Anthony Gullo who promised the Virgin Mary that he would build a chapel in her honor if his son would get better after an illness. It is still an active Catholic church and mass is held once a year on August 15. If you want to visit, stop by. The key is in the mailbox to the right of the door. Have a safe trip and bring along the supplies you might need to keep you safe.

Hamer, South Carolina just south of the North Carolina border on I-95 has one of America’s most kitschiest stops. First established in 1949 as a place to grab a beer, South of the Border has grown to take over both sides of the road. There’s a Reptile Lagoon for those that love reptiles. Lots and lots of fiberglass animals, a Sombrero Tower you can climb up onto, and so, so many little trinkets and toys and touristy items you can buy. Don’t forget the little motel, restaurants, and a miniature golf course too. Bring along supplies when you are out on the road. Great stop for you and the family.
