Well… Mother Nature finally got her act together, but apparently everyone else had somewhere else to be. 🌤️😂

Between this morning’s storms, the College World Series, city-wide garage sales in all the surrounding towns, and every other weekend adventure imaginable, our bakery has been awfully quiet today.

So instead of standing around talking to the cinnamon rolls, we’re going to call it a day a little early. Livengoodies will be closing today at 1:30 PM.

We’ll be back soon with fresh goodies, and all the sass you’ve come to expect. 💗

After a lot of thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to suspend ice cream sales at Livengoodies for the time being due to an ongoing commercial lease dispute.

This isn’t because of a lack of support—quite the opposite. The response from this community has been incredible, and I can’t thank you enough for embracing our homemade ice cream.

Unfortunately, until the lease issues are resolved, I don’t feel it’s in the best interest of my business to continue offering it.

To everyone who came in for a cone, a cup, or one of our crazy creations—thank you. I truly hope this is only temporary.

The bakery isn’t going anywhere. We’ll still have fresh pastries, cookies, sandwiches, salads, and all the goodies you’ve come to expect. I appreciate your continued support more than you know.

Sometimes running a small business means fighting battles that have nothing to do with baking. I’m hopeful that, in time, we’ll be able to bring the ice cream back where it belongs.

Sometimes, the best treasures aren’t worth much to anyone else… but they’re priceless to you.

This was my one and only purchase at the Onawa City-Wide Garage Sales.

To most people, it’s just an old plastic cake keeper.

To me, it’s Grandma.

She always served her homemade angel food cake in one just like this. The moment I saw it, I was instantly back in her kitchen, waiting for dessert and listening to all the conversations around the table.

It’s amazing how something so simple can unlock memories you didn’t even realize were still tucked away.

Today, I didn’t just bring home a vintage cake keeper—I brought home a little piece of my childhood. ❤️

Anyone else have something from their grandparents’ house that instantly takes them back?

Well friends, between the city-wide garage sales luring everyone away and the absolute torture of standing inside watching this gorgeous weather through the bakery window, I’ve decided to call it a day a little early.

Livengoodies will be closing at 2:00 PM today instead of 3:00 PM.

Thank you to everyone who stopped in today! We had a fantastic catering event, saw some friendly faces, and had an all-around great day.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go enjoy some sunshine before Iowa changes its mind.

Sometimes people think Livengoodies is just a bakery.

Yes, we have cookies. Yes, we have cinnamon rolls. Yes, we have homemade ice cream.
