The Nick Hadden miniature KY reels are really cool. The German silver one is a B.C. Milam & Son clone.

The Abbey & Imbrie "Interocean" was made for them by Ocean City in 1930 according to a big game reel expert Doug Whittington. He said the reel is identical to the Ocean City "Orlando" reel. It's a 6/0 size reel and is made of German silver. I had to buy a pin spanner wrench from Grainger to be able to remove the handle and end cap ring nuts. The reel is very similar to the LA Coxe reel according to drbaits. It's an interesting reel.

Many of you saw the recent Angling Auctions listing of a Meek No. 44 fly reel. It's the one pictured in the middle in the photos below. There were discussions among collectors as to whether the reel was a first model or a second model. I offer the photos below for your evaluation. Shown from left to right are the lowest serial number to the highest. They are 1150, 1355, 2468, 2539 and 3897.To me, it's a "Missing Link" when B.F. Meek & Sons transitions from the first model to the second model. You can pick out design features seen on the first model to the left of it and some from the second model to the right of it. I thought the handle was really telling since it has an ivory k**b and a dog-leg bend like the first model, yet, it has a smooth curved feature rather than straight on the counterweight side of the handle like a second model. You can look at the photos and pick out similarities from both the first and second models. You can click on the photos to enlarge them.

I ran across this catalog depiction of the Heddon 3-15 and 3-35 reels being offered as ant-back-lash reels in the 1925 VL&A Catalog. I have seen the 3-15 with the anti-back-lash bar on it, but have not seen a 3-35 with the bar. Does anyone have one? It's always fun to look at the old catalogs in the ORCA Library.
