The birthday celebrations are over. It’s a new age on paper maybe, but the bu****it is the same. The same patterns. The same dramas. The shortcoming. The same villains. The same being unattractive and unloved by men. I still feel 29. I still feel 19. I still feel 12. I still feel 10. I still feel 7. I still feel all the pain, and hell, and high water. They say years are passing but I can’t tell because it’s the same bu****it.

As the years keep progressing, the one thing I regret most is not having a man in my life to love. Is not getting to have s*x. Entering this new decade that is my biggest fear: is the next 10 years going to be exactly like the last 10 years? I am looking at a real possibility of dying single, unloved, and a virgin. It’s so impossible nowadays to get a man to love you. My heart aches. I do not know what to do differently. A part of me thinks maybe I should be a slt like other girls and just give it away because they girls that do that have everything I want. They have jobs. Husband. Children. Cars. Homes. And I have nothing.

Islam for the Rest of Us is turning 30 so time for the best moments so far!

I was determined to show up to my cousin’s wedding looking killer. To avenge all the hateful comments and critiques that made me feel like s**t as a child and still do today. It was worth the temporary credit card debt to not get comments about my weight.

If you can relate or have been in my shoes, check out my book Plug into Allah.

The Degree Trap: Why Your Bachelor’s is Closing Doors You Thought It Would Open

We were told a bachelor’s degree was the golden ticket to stability, a career, and a "seat at the table."

If you are a Millennial between 25 and 35, you know exactly what I’m talking about. We spent decades studying. We sacrificed our social lives, postponed romantic love, and ignored our physical health—sometimes to the point of developing chronic illnesses—all for a piece of paper that currently yields a fat, whopping zero.

The "Overqualified" Curse

It’s the ultimate irony: Being too capable makes you a threat.

When you’ve mastered competencies in multiple industries, employers don't see a "versatile asset." They see a "flight risk." They are terrified that the moment your "other" industry calls, you’ll be gone. So, they reject you instantly.

I didn’t sacrifice my health and my youth to be penniless. I didn't lose years of my life just to sit in a growing pile of debt, struggling to afford the basic necessity of food.

The Networking Myth

So, what do we do? Traditional advice says "Network!"

But let’s be honest: traditional networking is just another expense we can't afford. Spending money we don't have on $20 martinis, business pumps, and "best-dressed" outfits just for the hint of a lead is a losing game. It’s a high-cost gamble with a low-possibility payout.

We don’t need more happy hours. We need a force multiplier.

How We Fight Back: Collective Leverage

Instead of hunting in silos and competing for the same crumbs, we are banning together. We are using each other—not through fake small talk, but through Collective Leverage.

I created Hire-A-Zouita to turn the "Solo Hunt" into a community takeover.

HireZouita.com leverages the job hunt of other job-seekers to get job seekers in front of more employers.

The Nitty-Gritty: How It Works

HireZouita.com is a centralized hub that lists skills by industry—STEM, Marketing, Healthcare, Trades, and more. It serves as a collective portfolio.

Here’s the "Side-Door" effect: When one of us gets an interview, we all get seen. When a recruiter looks up your portfolio for a Medical Assistant role, they see the entire directory. While they are vetting you, they might notice a fellow member who offers Mechanic Services or Graphic Design. Because the person hiring you is a human with a life—they have cars that leak oil, kids who need tutors, and side projects that need marketing. We leverage every single interview to put the entire collective in front of decision-makers.

The era of "Apply and Pray" is dead. The "Overqualified" label only works against you if you're playing by their rules. It's time we wrote our own.

Join a community that understands your worth, values your multi-industry mastery, and actually puts your work in front of people who need it.

It’s time to put your crown back on. 👑
The job hunt has a way of making you forget your worth. The endless applications, the ghosting, the feeling of shouting into a void—it can wear down even the strongest among us.
My shirt says "BOSS WOMEN PRAY," and I believe in the power of faith. But I also believe in the power of action and community.
I created Hire-A-Zouita (HireZouita.com) because no one should have to fight this battle alone. We are a collective of talented individuals leveraging our shared strength to break through the noise and get seen by employers.
To my fellow Las Vegas job seekers: You are not just a resume in a stack. You are a boss, a creator, a problem-solver. It's time to stop hunting in the dark and start opening doors for each other.
Let's turn your prayers into partnerships and your applications into offers.
Ready to reclaim your power? Join the collective today.

We are not covered by law, but love. Being Arab/North African and Muslim, law is emphasized and there is no weight to knowing God in love and awe. For many people, the endless rules, restrictions, and rugged list of sins, turns people away from knowing God, instead they know OF God.
Which is why I stripped down Islam and Quran back to basics: knowing God’s love and care for you and you reciprocating that love.
… Plug into Allah. That is what the workbook Plug into Allah is about. Stripping back the bitterness and bylaws and getting back to basics.

Not just any type of journaling will help with emotional illness and mental health, despite the common instruction from therapists. Guided journaling with scripture guide rails to take you off the brink of the edge is necessary. Before I had proper medication—before I could even get an appointment with a doctor—I was stuck in the waiting. Two months felt like an eternity when anxiety attacks hit unexpectedly, when fear spiraled out of control, when the weight of worry suffocated me to the point of extinction.
I needed something—anything—to ground me in those moments, to give me space to process the storm inside my mind. That’s when I turned to a devotional prayer journal. It wasn’t a cure, but it was a lifeline—a place where I could write my fears, release my thoughts, and find strength in faith.
God’s promises grounded me in that “better” was immediately on the horizon. Writing gave my anxiety somewhere to go instead of keeping it locked inside. Prayer reminded me that I wasn’t alone—even when I felt lost in my own thoughts. Reflection brought clarity, helping me see past the panic and focus on peace, one breath at a time.
In the waiting, the journal became my safe space, guiding me through uncertainty, helping me manage my emotions until I could get the help I truly needed. And even now, after starting treatment, it remains a powerful tool—a reminder that faith, reflection, and small moments of connection can bring calm to chaos.
If you’ve ever felt stuck in the waiting, if you need something to hold onto between now and healing, maybe this journal could be that space for you too.
Easy to pick up when emotional support is needed and no else but God is coming to your rescue. 📖 Plug Into Allah: Islamic Mindfulness Journal—because faith isn’t just belief, it’s a sanctuary for the soul.
