🏁 Race Weekend Recap – Marion County Speedway 🏁
Saturday we headed to Marion County Speedway for the last race before the summer break at the Bullring. We decided to make a complete 180° setup change and try something different—and let me tell you, it worked! The 21W felt incredible in hot laps. The car was balanced, comfortable, and had speed right from the start.
Heat Race:
Unfortunately, our night took an early hit. Going into turn one, things got three-wide, the leader got spun, and I ended up getting collected in the chaos. The damage was extensive, bending every front-end radius rod and even the front axle.
Back in the pits, we got to work. We replaced the radius rods and did some pit-side geometry calculations to compensate for the bent axle and get the car back on track. Huge thank you to my brother, battle buddy, and great friend Josh,fill in crew chief Jody for all the help, and to crew chief Dean for the virtual guidance that helped get us pointed in the right direction.
Feature:
Starting from the back, we put our heads down and charged forward. At one point we worked our way up to 4th place, but as the track took rubber in turns 1 and 2, we struggled to maintain momentum and ultimately fell back to finish 8th.
While the result wasn’t exactly what we were hoping for, the speed and balance we found with this new setup has us excited for what’s ahead.
