A little gardening/outdoor tip from me to you!

Most of you don't know that back in the day I was quite the little Avon lady. Those of you old enough to know anything about Avon are also probably super aware of what was most likely their #1 seller for forever.

The Skin So Soft baby oil.

Yes, it has a strong smell of your grandma from the 80s, but the mosquitoes HATE it! I put mine in a spray bottle, rub it in (behave!), and voila!!! No more vampire sucking garden pests!!!!

So, go look up your local Avon lady, and get yourself some.

Also, the gelled body oil is DIVINE! Leaves your skin feeling powdery soft!

I always get excited when my fairy circle comes back time and again. Chris isn't a fan of the mushrooms, and questioned me about why they excite me so much.

The simple answer is this: as little girls, we were taught to believe in fairy tales with fairies and magic and princes and princesses, and all of that s**t.

Chris has his He-Man, DC/Marvel, and every other 80s cartoon that he still obsesses over because it reminds him of the best part of his childhood.

The fairy circle is mine. The garden, with the dirt, bugs, butterflies, frogs and flowers, is mine. I played by myself. Every day. I didn't have friends that played with me. I entertained myself. This is my little slice of heaven, and it always will be.

You have your fairy tales, I have mine. ❤️

Snagged a couple of adorable new planters today for some future DIY succulent fun! 🌵💚

One question I get a lot is: “Why don’t you charge more for your workshops?”
The answer is simple — I truly want my classes and events to be affordable for anyone who wants to come create, relax, and have fun.

I’m a proud bargain hunter 😂 Most of the goodies we use come from garage sales, estate sales, thrift stores, Dollar Tree treasures, and the occasional Hobby Lobby clearance score. I love finding creative ways to turn inexpensive items into something beautiful!

As for the plants… they pretty much do their own thing. I buy smart, propagate what I can, grow what I love, and let Mother Nature work her magic. 🌱✨

I’m excited to start ramping events back up in mid-June/July, and I’d LOVE to partner with:
🌿 Local businesses
🌿 Non-profits
🌿 Schools & churches
🌿 Private parties/home hosts

I’m also working on creating a cozy workshop space right here at home so I can keep overhead low and continue sharing these experiences with more friends and plant lovers.

If you’ve ever attended one of my events, I’d absolutely love for you to post photos of your creations — whether they’re still thriving or… became part of the circle of life 😅 I’m always amazed by everyone’s creativity and personal style!

Wellllll… it’s been WAY more than a minute since I’ve checked in around here, so I figured it was finally time to pop back on and say HELLO, plant friends! 🌿💚

For all my new followers — HI! I’m Kathi, the owner of Groovy Blooms, your favorite succulent-loving, dirt-playing, plant-party-throwing gal! 🪴✨

Groovy Blooms started completely on a whim after I discovered my love for planting and getting my hands dirty, thanks to one very special lady — my amazing mama, Mary Mehl. Her childlike excitement for flowers, gardening, and all things growing inspired me to start this wild little plant adventure, make new friends, and spread the joy of playing in the dirt!

It’s been a long six months since I’ve really checked in, but I’m back, refreshed, and SO excited to reconnect with everyone. This gorgeous weather has had me busy behind the scenes growing some beautiful low-maintenance houseplants and hanging baskets that are officially ready to find their forever homes! 🌱☀️

And what better excuse to celebrate than a HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ME & MY HUBBY plant purge post?! 🎉💍🌿

Now don’t panic — today is NOT the official sale day! I just wanted to hop on, stir up some excitement, and give y’all a little sneak peek at what’s coming.

This first round will feature HOUSEPLANTS, with the succulent purge coming next week… so stay tuned, because the fun is just getting started! 🌵✨

💚 HOW TO CLAIM A PLANT 💚
If you see something you want, simply:
✔️ Comment “SOLD”
✔️ Send me a message with photos of the item(s) you claimed

From there, we’ll arrange payment and pickup/meet-up details!

💳 Accepted Payments:
Venmo, CashApp, PayPal, cash, and cards

🪴 Pickup Options:
• Schedule an appointment to visit the greenhouse
• Meet at a mutual location

If you want to participate in the purge, comment below in the post so you can get notifications when the purge starts.

And PLEASE don’t ghost me. It’s rude… and let’s be honest — I’m still in therapy, and the testosterone has JUST started kicking in. I would not test a menopausal mama. 😂
