Part of your responsibilities as a Painter will include but are not limited to the following:
· Set up and prep material to be painted. This includes removing surface rust and mill scale, tape off contact edges
· Mix paint properly as required based on manufacturer data sheets and recommendations
· Spray material color as identified on fabrication drawings
· Perform a final inspection of each piece and correct any runs, overspray or missed areas
· Dispose of excess paint and thinner properly, in the disposal drums provided
· Follow daily cleaning procedures on the pump, paint gun, and paint lines
· Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
· Follow all safety rules and quality standards
· Be knowledgeable of the paints, solvents, materials, and application methods used in the coating of structural steel including Direct To Metal enamels and Epoxy-based coatings
· Basic spraying technique to apply an even finish coat with minimal runs, holidays, or overspray
· Ability to lift 40 pound items, routinely
· Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and spraying required
· Must wear safety equipment, PPE, and respirators provided during the painting process
· Ability to safely operate an overhead crane and fork lift
· Ability to follow instruction given both verbally and in writing
· Ability to produce quality products consistently
· Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic
· Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time
· As required, load and offload trucks
· Ability to work 40+ hours per week
