Did you know the herringbone pattern has been used in flooring for over 2,000 years? 🤯🪵

It first appeared in ancient Roman roads and has been a symbol of sophisticated craftsmanship ever since. It showed up in the grand estates of 16th century France, carried through to Victorian-era homes, and now it's one of the most sought-after patterns in modern interior design.

The reason it endures is simple: the angled, interlocking pattern is structurally strong, visually dynamic, and works in almost every design style from traditional to ultra-modern. 🙌

There's a moment every September when the light shifts and suddenly all you want is a cozy corner to disappear into. 📖

A good book. A soft blanket. A chair by the window that feels like it was made for exactly this.

Carpet makes those moments even better. It's quiet underfoot, warm in the morning, and turns an ordinary room into the kind of space you actually want to spend time in. 🍂

When you're choosing carpet color and texture for a dining or living area, test it in the actual lighting of the room, not just under the showroom lights. 💡

Natural light, warm lamp light, and overhead lighting can all make the same carpet look completely different. A sample that looks like a warm oat in the store might read as cool gray in your north-facing room.

Bring a sample home before you commit. 🫡

A floor can be the most interesting thing in a room. ✨

If you've been playing it safe with flooring choices, consider this your permission slip to go for it.

Chevron and herringbone patterns are having a serious moment right now, and it's easy to see why. The angular lines add movement and energy to a space in a way that straight planks simply don't. Paired with bold walls and dramatic finishes, the result is a room that feels truly designed.

The best part? The pattern works in virtually any wood tone, from pale blonde to deep walnut, so you're not locked into one look. 😍

Laminate vs LVP. Same look, very different performance. Here's what actually separates them. 🤔

🪵 Laminate has a wood composite core. It looks beautiful and is budget-friendly, but it is NOT waterproof. Standing water can cause it to swell and warp.

💧 LVP is 100% vinyl all the way through, making it completely waterproof and a better fit for kitchens, bathrooms, and basements.

🦶 Feel: LVP is slightly softer and quieter underfoot. Laminate can sound hollow without quality underlayment.

Neither is the wrong choice. It just depends on the room and how your household lives.

September energy: realizing every design decision you made in 2021 now needs to be reconsidered. 😂🪴

The floors stayed. The floors are fine. The floors are carrying this whole room actually. But the rest of it?

There's something about the fall refresh season that makes you look at your space with completely new eyes. And honestly, that's not a bad thing. It usually means something good is about to happen. ✨

September is the sweet spot. 🍂

Summer projects are wrapping up, fall routines are settling in, and the holidays are just close enough to feel real. If you've been putting off a flooring project, the window to get it done before the season gets busy is right now.

Getting started this month means you could have fresh floors underfoot before the first family gathering of the season. And that's a feeling that's hard to beat.

Come in this week and let's make it happen. Our team is ready to help you find exactly what your space needs. 🏡

Some homes just feel like a exhale. 🌊🤍

Light, wide-plank floors. Soft blues and greens. A ceiling fan turning slowly on a warm August afternoon.

This is the energy most of us are chasing when we start thinking about a home refresh. Not just a new look, but a new feeling when you walk in the door.

Floors are the foundation of that feeling. They set the tone, the temperature, the whole vibe of a room before a single piece of furniture is placed. ✨

Fall is closer than it feels. ☀️🍂

August is the sweet spot for flooring projects. Summer schedules are winding down, back to school energy brings a natural reset, and getting a project done now means you're fully settled before the holidays sneak up on you.

Come in this week. We'll help you find something you'll love all year long. 🏡
