🛍️🔎 TREASURES, TEAMWORK & A WHOLE LOT OF FUN! 🔎🛍️

This past weekend’s Community Thrift Store Scavenger Hunt brought people out and about across Brevard County searching for hidden treasures, completing challenges, visiting local nonprofit thrift stores, and learning a little more about the organizations making a difference in our community.

And we were excited that one of the stops on the hunt was Beacon Thrift Store at the Gale Center for Hope! 🎉

What a great turnout! We loved seeing teams come through our doors, hunt for their next clue, browse Beacon’s treasures, share plenty of laughs, and get into a little friendly competition along the way. There were smiles everywhere - and LOTS of fun prizes given out! 🎁🏆

But the best part of an event like this goes beyond the scavenger hunt. Every person who walked through the doors had an opportunity to discover more about Beacon Thrift Store, the Gale Center for Hope, and the incredible work happening throughout our community.

When you shop local nonprofit thrift stores, your purchases can have a purpose. ❤️ You’re supporting organizations that pour those dollars, resources, and energy right back into the people and families who call Brevard home.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who participated, organized, volunteered, donated prizes, shopped, laughed, hunted, and made the day such a success. We loved being part of it!

Sometimes it's not about what you have to give - it's about the kindness you're willing to show.

At Beacon Thrift, items come and go every day. Recently, a woman came into the store searching for a very specific item she desperately needed for a family member. Unfortunately, it wasn't something we carry.

But instead of simply saying, "I'm sorry, we don't have it," one of our incredible volunteers went the extra mile. They immediately began calling other local thrift stores, hoping to save her from driving all over town in search of what she needed.

The relief and gratitude on her face said it all.

Moments like these remind us that serving others isn't always about making a sale - it's about showing compassion, offering hope, and treating people with dignity. A few extra minutes and a little extra kindness can make all the difference in someone's day.

To our amazing volunteers, thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus and for reminding us what it truly means to love our neighbors.

Memorial Day weekend isn’t just about lake days, BBQs, or holiday sales.

It’s about the men and women who never made it home.

The ones who missed birthdays, graduations, first steps, holidays, and ordinary Tuesday dinners because they gave everything in service to this country. 🇺🇸

As we gather with family and friends this weekend, laugh a little louder, hug your loved ones a little tighter, and make the memories that so many heroes never got the chance to make themselves.
