For a long time, the only way to know what was in the workshop was to ask. That's not a great system. I'm fixing it.

Current workshop inventory includes 10 instruments at various stages. A few worth noting:

🏛 A pre-1850 Victorian London upright — serial-dated to two years before the Great Exhibition of 1851, built by Collard & Collard during the firm's peak production period
👑 A late 1890s Weber upright — Royal Warrant holder to King Alphonso XIII of Spain, pre-Aeolian acquisition, original ownership era
🎵 A c.1907 Mathushek Cunningham — manufacturer-stamped New Haven scale, Philadelphia Cunningham dealer provenance, connected to the same house associated with George Gershwin
🎹 A 1984 American-made Baldwin — Jasper Corporation Indiana era, one of the last fully domestic production runs before the brand changed hands
🌿 Two Kimball uprights — both headed for custom high-gloss finishes. The right color treatment on an instrument like this produces a result that sits in a completely different market than a standard restored upright.
🎶 A late 1950s Hardman Peck player piano — documented White House instrument under FDR, official piano of the Metropolitan Opera, working player mechanism intact

Every instrument has been fully evaluated before listing — structural assessment, mechanical condition, action regulation, and voicing — not just cleaned and photographed.

Through our Keys for Kids initiative, our goal is simple:
Get pianos into the hands of kids and communities that need them.

We work to place pianos in schools, churches, and community spaces where they can inspire the next generation of musicians.

Here’s something special about how this program works:

Every time someone purchases a piano through Nick’s Piano Services, it automatically allows us to set aside another piano to restore and donate through the Keys for Kids program.

That means every piano purchase helps create another opportunity for music somewhere else. 🎶

Before donating these instruments, we restore and customize them so they become something truly special for the receiving organization. We’re also fortunate to work with talented commissioned artists in our community who can help create personalized designs, themes, characters, or artwork on these pianos.

This allows each donated piano to become a meaningful piece for the students and community it serves.

Over the next few months we’ll be releasing a number of restored, renovated, and customized pianos — including uprights and baby grands — and some of them are going to be completely one-of-a-kind.

Here’s the exciting part:
