I couldn’t let another day go by without mentioning one of the most special places in my adult life…. The storied, the infamous, the iconic The 8x10 in my hometown of Baltimore.
The 8x10 was my second home. I have gone to countless shows there over the last 25 or so years. I went when it was still the “Funk Box” and saw incredible music in one of the most intimate and friendly venues in the whole world. The floor would shake with our energy, I remember so many shows with Cris Jacobs and friends and being on that floor moving and grooving with all my friends.
I made the 8x10 part of my new life as Sleeping on Rainbows Tie Dye and used this photo taken outside of the venue about 7 years ago in my rainbow overalls as my business logo which was “painted” into the logo you see now by the incredible Pam Heywood
I felt so strongly that the the inspiration to start my business truly came from the years I spent recharging my soul with incredible music that I had to use this picture with that iconic purple wall somehow in my new business. The rest is history, but I will always have so much gratitude for what Abigail and Brian built for the music community in Baltimore and beyond.
I cannot wait to see what the next chapter brings, and DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY EXTRAS FOR ANY NIGHT OF THE FAIRWELL SHOWS NEXT WEEKEND!!! I really need to be there!
