A little market update from us. ❤️

We’re going to sit out this weekend’s Valley Made Market.

Josh is still recovering from his broken leg, and I’m dealing with a stubborn carpal tunnel flare-up—so between the two of us, we’re currently working with approximately one fully functioning human.

As much as we hate missing a market weekend, giving ourselves a little more recovery time is the smart thing to do.

But we’ll be back September 13!

I’ve already been working on some fall pieces, so you’ll find a mix of old favorites and new fall décor waiting for you—including a few of these guys.

For now, we’re resting and recovering (okay, I may still be dreaming up new things).

Thank you for always being so supportive of us and this little handmade business of mine.

We’ll see you September 13 at Valley Made Market!

I had 14 birch panels to stain and clear coat for my August market, but I also wanted to watch Ted Lasso.

So… I improvised.

Green beans. Sardines. Smoked salmon. Spam.

Turns out they’re just the right height to become drying racks. 😂

Sometimes “running a handmade business” looks less like a Pinterest-perfect workshop and more like raiding the pantry because it gets the job done.

But that’s the beauty of handmade.

Every piece starts as a plain sheet of birch, gets stained, sealed, engraved, assembled, and finished by me—one step at a time.

This is one of the new Card Keepers headed to my booth at Valley Made Market. I designed these to hold the cards, notes, recipes, letters, and little memories that are just too special to throw away.

Because some words really are worth keeping. 🤎

Five replacement stools?

New fabric?

✔️ Yep.

We still loved the stools…just not the peeling seats. So instead of replacing perfectly good furniture, we spent an afternoon giving them a fresh look.

I’m pretty happy with how they turned out!

Sometimes “new” is just a little creativity away.

Painting has taken a back seat lately while I’ve been running the show at HQ while Mr. Valley Grown heals from injuries sustained on our… his… last camping trip. 😏

I’ve also been trying to train the cat for the weekly group photo.

Current progress report:

Just in time for summer festivities and all the booms, I’m here with a friendly reminder… we’ve officially passed the halfway mark to Christmas!

I’ve already made ornaments in six new themes for my upcoming markets!

So far, the kitchen counter has been filled with:

Cardinals
Snowmen
Vintage-inspired ornaments
Nutcrackers
Angels
Cozy ski lodge scenes

It’s always fun to see the collection come together, one ornament at a time. I still have more to come, but I’m excited to share a little peek at what’s been keeping me busy. I’m taking a break to work on my personal favorite - Fall!

For now, I’ll let you get back to enjoying summer… but Christmas is quietly taking shape over at VGHC Headquarters.

I'll have plenty of handmade signs, ornaments, keepsakes, and gifts that are thoughtful, a little snarky, and definitely not something you'll find at Target.

I’ve been working on a couple new layered pieces, and I think I’m almost finished…

The landscape version has me thinking it needs just one more special touch.

I’m picturing a simple primitive-style saying across the sky—something that feels timeless, peaceful, and at home with a farmhouse vibe.

A few ideas I’ve been considering:
🤍 Simple Blessings
🤍 Count Your Blessings
🤍 The Lord Is My Shepherd

But I’d love to hear your ideas!
