Our (Alaska) State Fair is starting today! It feels like it traditionally rains every year at our state fair and is the “meteorological gateway” to winter.
If this summer’s precipitation is any indicator of the snowfall to come, we are super stoked for winter and are forecasting some deep pow 🤞!!! We have some amazing talent up here and always welcome those from out of state that want to come experience our winter wonderland, with multiple options of companies to rent from (or some of us have spares for you to use 😉).
We just wanted to share with y’all. It’s a pretty badass race to follow, even for those that aren’t located here. The Iron Dog is the World’s Longest, Toughest Snowmobile Race, it covers more than 2,500 miles as it traverses the Alaskan backcountry. Races start in mid February, with two classes - a non-competitive class and a competitive class. It would cross over multiple states in the lower 48 if we were to overlap the race route.
With that said, the Iron Dog crew of veteran racers, staff, board members and volunteers is posted up at the Alaska State Fair in booth S27. They have Iron Dog and new merch for sale including kids t-shirts, stainless cups, coolers, blankets and more. Check them Out! 📸: Iron Dog Race
