How it started vs how I used it. Sometimes the linens that I acquire have been well used and I need to use pieces rather than the whole item. This piece is part of what was a beautiful Damask tablecloth. When I washed it, it began to fall apart in places. So I cut out pieces, dyed them and now have some beautiful linens to cover notebooks. I love the process…never knowing how they will look until the dye process and ironing are complete😊 what was old is new again !

What do I do with dyed linens with imperfections like holes or worn areas? I cover some notebooks, including really small 2”x4” ones. Upcycling as much as I can ❤️

The dye is called Warrior Princess. The linens are vintage cotton that came to me in less than stellar condition. Judging by the dingy color and a few food stains, they like other warriors, had seen many celebratory meals! A good wash and ice dye bath with the warrior princess color brings out the stunning cut work details and fluted edge. They are fresh and ready for another generation of celebrations and will be available to see in person at Chic-hi-dee Herbals this week!

Remember tea parties when you were a child? You gathered your friends (real, stuffed and/or imaginary) around a table and made it a party!
Here’s your excuse to have a real adult tea party. This set of 5 placemats and napkins has been given a new life thanks to an ice dye named Powder Pink, and is ready for a grown up tea party for you and 4 of your best friends (real, stuffed or imaginary…this is a no judgement zone😉). You can see these in person at Chic-hi-dee Herbals!

Easter is coming!! If you’re planning an Easter brunch have you considered how pretty and elegant cloth napkins can be? These are well loved linens that have been given a new life with a snow dyeing process. The dye is called “Black Ice” but I’m thinking it should be “Hyacinth” or “ Lilac”. What do you think? You’ll be able to see them in person soon at Chic-hi-dee Herbals 😊
