it's always an exciting morning when you get to order for SPRING!
All of these beautiful bulbs will be on their way to me in October for fall planting and I'll have bulbs available for sale at the farmers markets starting in October as well!!
Which ones do you want in your garden for next spring?
Here's a few of the reasons why i love daffodils so much for growing in Virginia:
✨they are easy to plant during the cooler fall days/evenings
✨they come back year after year! tulips don't love our winters but daffodils will come back no matter the weather and thrive in our climate
✨they will MULTIPLY! daffodils are great for simple and beautiful spring plantings and only get better with age as they multiply and naturalize; In a few years you can dig up clumps and its like free daffodils!
✨they come in so many fun shape, colors, forms and bloom windows that you can easily have a variety of blooms in a small space with multiple weeks of blooms
✨i could keep going but lastly, did you know daffodils have a scent? most modern flowers have had their natural scent qualities bred out of them in exchange for bigger blooms, colors or other "desirable" traits, but many daffodils have kept their scent and different varieties have different levels and variations of scent too! One of my favorite scents of spring is the lightly sweet fragrance when you walk past a cheerful blooming vase of daffodils in your home!
