Hey there Sonoran Craftworks fans! I've just applied to a few of the fall arts festivals and will be providing updates to shows / festivals we will be participating in as I receive that info. For now, I'll be sharing the photos I've submitted for the shows. These are primarily steampunk style pipe lamps, but we are working on some river tables and saguaro lamps / tables / sconces as well. Always feel free to browse the page, review the items we can build for you and let us know if you see something you just gotta have. keep in mind, each Sonoran Craftworks item is one-of-a-kind and handcrafted by the Sonoran Craftworks artist. we work on commission as well. Hi Sonoran Craftworks followers! It's been awhile since my last post, just finished an item I am thinking about adding to the inventory of items that Sonoran Craftworks offers. In my last post, I built a couple of vintage style wall-mount pipe lamps. Those were built for my fiance. The attached photos are of a vintage style floor-standing pipe lamp. This one is very basic, future builds will incorporate some cool dimmer switches and integrated USB / AC outlet boxes. I can do these in virtually any configuration or color, and I'll be building table lamps as well. Unless there is some demand for a specific configuration, the intent would be to make each one unique relative to construction, color, shade and /or bulb styles, number of bulbs, the way they are switched on, etc. Floor lamps will likely be priced in the $200 - $250 range while table lamps will be in the $100 - $150 range. Wall mounts like those in my last post (with the exception of the shades, those were a special find while out antiquing), will go for $50 - $75 each. Please feel free to reach out if interested in any of the products you see on this page. I'll be adding custom co****le sets soon. NOTE: the co****le sets will not be regulation weight. IMO, regulation weight CH sets are garbage and don't last very long. Leave them out in 1 storm and they're shot. Leave a set outside for long, they're shot. Mine will be heavy duty, made to last, and will have led's to enhance nighttime play.
Please don't forget to like and share! Thanks!

Hopefully, these photos will provide an idea as to size and build details. The sleds are made to either sit on (steer with feet) or lay on (steer with hands). 45 years ago, I stood on the back of the prototype model and rode down the sled hill at snowbowl holding onto the rope and gliding on just the rear runners. I don't recommend it.
As you can see, the front runners are mounted on a swivel and both front and rear are covered in heavy sheet metal. Runners are 2X4, 3 rear and 2 front, and the deck is 3/4" ply. All the wood is sanded to 220 fine and soaked in linseed oil. This makes it heavy as sleds go, but it is also the fastest sled you'll ever ride on a "good" hill.
I know this sounds silly, but this is an heirloom quality item, just oil it once in a while and it should provide lots of enjoyment for many years. Please feel free to contact us if interested in any of the items you see one this page.
Also - please like and share! Thanks

So, this is a sled we built several years ago as a gift for my grandkid. In the videos, Karson demonstrates how the steering works.
