Alright. I’m tired of watching this.
The conversations happening around AI and art have gotten fu***ng MEAN.
I understand that people have VERY strong feelings about AI and I understand why artists are angry, protective of their work and worried about what this means for creative industries.
But the bullying, shaming, ostracizing and excluding other artists and small businesses? I’m over it.
We can care deeply about supporting human artists without treating other humans like s**t.
And instead of making another post just arguing about it, I decided I want to actually DO something.
If we want people to hire humans, then we need to make it easier for people to actually FIND humans they can hire.
So I’m building a FREE public directory of artists and creatives looking for work.
I want ALL kinds of creatives. Graphic designers, illustrators, photographers, writers, painters, makers, web designers, musicians, printers, social media people… whatever you do.
You can include your services, pricing, turnaround time, portfolio/socials, contact information and whether you’re open to things like budget projects, payment plans or barter.
And to be VERY clear: this is not about asking artists to work for less. Charge what your work is worth. I want different experience levels, price points and options because different people and businesses have different needs.
I’m starting with creatives, but I already have ideas for how this could eventually grow beyond that.
For now, I just want to help people find each other.
