🔥 FAKE MONEY THAT HELPED WIN A WAR? 🔥
You are looking at two $20 Confederate notes from July 25th, 1861... that are BOTH Northern-made fakes!
These are the famous CT-18 / T-20 “Female Riding Deer” Contemporary Counterfeits - printed in Philadelphia by Samuel Upham and his imitators during the Civil War.
Upham started selling them as “souvenirs” for pennies with his name on the border: “Fac-simile Confederate Notes Sold Wholesale and Retail.” People figured out real quick if you trimmed off his name, you could spend them in the South and buy cotton.
It became full-on economic warfare. Tens of thousands of these flooded the Confederacy and helped drive that 92x inflation.
HOW CAN YOU TELL?
👉 Printed signatures (real ones are handwritten)
👉 Crude woodcut of Diana riding a deer - that’s Industry on the real T-20
👉 Printed serial numbers - No. 107 and No. 6430
👉 That orange/red “XX” color that fades differently
I love having both color varieties side-by-side - one red, one faded orange. Same counterfeit plate, two different lives in circulation.
No Confederate collection is complete without a Upham. And yes - these bogus notes are now worth MORE than some genuine ones!

This one hits different when you're from Montgomery.
This is an 1850's Central Bank of Alabama $500 "Proof" - AL65G28P - graded PMG 65 EPQ Gem Uncirculated. A true Proof, never issued for circulation, with perfect paper quality and that incredible bold vignette of Washington still looking like it was printed yesterday.
As a Montgomery guy, holding a high-denomination note from The Central Bank OF ALABAMA that was meant for my hometown in the 1850s is just special. The history, the artistry, the condition - it doesn't get much better than this for Alabama obsolete currency.
This one is a permanent piece. It will not leave my collection until I leave this world.

Picked up this beauty today - 100oz Engelhard.999+ Fine Silver, P-series. Over 6 pounds in hand.
For those who don’t know, this is the classic extruded 100oz. Engelhard set the standard for silver in the US, but they left the retail bullion market back in the late 80s/early 90s and were later bought by BASF in 2006 - which ended all new Engelhard-branded bars. That means every Engelhard out there now is vintage and from a finite supply.
That’s why collectors hunt these down. Part bullion, part piece of American precious metals history.
