Size no longer matters… kinda.
Target Scaling - How does it work?
Due to 3 dependent variables, you can’t just move closer to the target to get the same experience as shooting larger arrows.
There are three variables in this equation:
1.) Distance to Target
2.) Arrow diameter
3.) X-ring size at target scale
Based on NFAA rules for a 5 spot target, their standardize to:
1.) 20yds
2.) 27/64” (0.4219”) max
3.) 1.575” (4cm) at 100% scale
If one variable is fixed, there is only one instance that satisfies the other two variables to have an equivalent experience.
For example, if you have a .302” arrow, you’d need to change BOTH X-Ring size/target scale AND distance to target. You can’t just change one or the other to have the same experience.
