Still flying high from seeing a few nights before, we checked our luggage with our concierge at Executive Hotel Le Soleil: New York | Vancouver and headed to the highly recommended Best Bagel & Coffee for aBest Bagel & Coffeeeakfast; bagels & coffee. Did not disappoint! Refueled & caffeinated, we set off to do some shopping in the garment district - we thought that was overwhelming.
But then we set foot into Macy's iconic flagship stoMacy'sHerald Square - where to even begin?! Still processing the enormity and history of the building, and all that lies within...you could spend a week and likely not see everything!
After gathering our belongings and bidding the hotel staff adieu, we made our way to the train station. We snagged a table at The Irish Exit - Irish BarThe Irish Exit - Irish Bar in Manhattan some refreshing food & drink. We had the loveliest travel companions on the train back to Providence...the perfect ending to a perfect mother / daughter getaway to NYC! ๐Ÿ—ฝโœจ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ

Day 2 NYC

Slept in till noon ๐Ÿ˜‚ then had take out from Starbucks for some much needed caffeine & sustenance.
1. First stop was Starbucks Reserveยฎ New York City - very sleek and modern cafรฉ, and a bar! It was a tad too early to indulge in an espresso martini, maybe next time. โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿธ
2 & 3. Next, a visit to the delightful Rizzoli Publications - if you saw the film "Falling in Love" with Meryl Streep & Robert De Nero, this is the bookstore where they meet. Well worth the visit if you love local, non-chain, neighborhood bookstores ๐Ÿ“š
4-6. Wandering up Broadway, we stumble upon 230 Fifth Rooftop Bar NYC and had to check it out. Fabulous view of the Empire State Building and mid-town in general. We split a juicy tasty burger & fries (so delish!) Will definitely return.
7-9. After an afternoon siesta at Executive Hotel Le Soleil: New York | Vancouver , we headed to Times Square. We stopped by Culture espresso for a hitCulture espressone of the most delicious chocolate chip cookies I've ever tasted. So what if it was 6pm - (ask me what time I was awake till Friday morning ๐ŸŒ„ ๐Ÿ™ƒ)
A few hours later we made our way back to our neighborhood to split a lovely bowl of pasta with meatballs and vino at IT โ€ข The Italian TrattoriaIT โ€ข The Italian Trattoria | Italian Restaurant in NYC & Miamiall day in the city...

Last weekend, our daughter had the privilege of standing up for her step-cousin on her wedding day, as Maid of Honor.

It was held at one of the most stunning venues in Massachusetts I've ever been to: The Evermore at Peirce Farm Estate, in Topsfield, MA. An estate rich with history, ambience and stunning views.

I wish I had taken more photos of the flowers; the loveliest arrangements I've ever seen. It was truly a joyful & emotional wedding day...so sweet to see a young couple so much in love.
