Step 1: Cut panicle hydrangeas that are past the white color stage. You want them to be green, pink, and even red depending on the variety.

Step 2: Choose a wreath form. I found mine at Michaels Stores and it’s 16in. I use wire you’ll find near the wreath forms. You can also use grapevine wreaths.

Step 3: Tie one end of your wire to your wreath form- do not cut your wire from your spool!

Step 4: Take 2-3 small to medium size heads, strip the leaves, and lay them on the form as shown. Wrap your wire around the woody stems. Do not wrap wire too close to the blooms as that area is soft and the heads will snap!

Step 5: Repeat this layering until your wreath is full. Tie your wire tight in the back. If any stems break, cut more and stuff them in the empty area.
I do not spray my hydrangeas with hairspray partly because they really don’t need it and partly because I only own a travel size bottle 😆

There are no rules with wreath making! You can make your wreath super full looking or thin- it’s a personal preference!

Enjoy your hydrangea wreath indoors or outdoors!

Last weekend the rain finally caught up to me. I was out of town and could only see what was happening via my mom’s security camera. What looked like a river, went right through the farm. It was so powerful it moved telephone poles that lined the driveway 20ft into the yard 😳 My annuals, some that I started from seed back in January stood no chance.
It’s a bummer, but it’s doesn’t feel right complaining when others in my state have lost much more.
So instead of crying, It’s time to clean up the mess, and pivot! 🌻 😀

You can do everything right, by the book, have the best weather for that particular flower and the flowers still may not turn out the way they should—- like these stock. Last year I threw them in the ground far too late, the temperatures warmed up way too fast, and my stock looked fabulous. Growing is not for the faint of heart! Also, what a weird spring we had in the north east 😵‍💫 These stock are perfectly imperfect and will be going on my kitchen table 😀

Did you know hornets make nests on the ground? Because I sure didn’t! I was cutting apple mint, minding my business…and almost had a My Girl moment 😳
