Saturday Spotlight: Sunday Choir

Are you leading a church choir? Here are some beautiful songs that will engage your singers and speak to your church congregation.

"Beautiful Savior" is an advanced A Ca****la women's arrangement for SSAA. Let your women's choir or group express their love for the Savior in these beautiful harmonies. (Arranger: Daniel Blomberg)

As an anthem written for the youth and young adults (SATB), "The Rising Generation," captures the essence of being part of this marvelous global community, highlighting the inherent responsibilities of, and promised blessings to the rising generation. (Songwriter: Izabela Geambașu)

"I Need Thee Every Hour / God Moves in a Mysterious Way" is a medley written for a soloist with the Choir. The soloist sings "I Need Thee Every Hour" and the choir steps in with "God Moves in a Mysterious Way", as if they were angels giving assurance that God is present and working in His way. At times the Soloist is singing along and sometimes both songs are going. This song was written to work for even a small choir but is beautiful enough to work for a larger choir as well. (Arrangers: Kathryn and Daniel Blomberg)

No matter what songs fill your Mother’s Day celebrations, we hope that the women in your life will feel your love and understanding. And to all you women, thank you for all you do in whatever capacity you find yourself. God has purpose and meaning for you. We hope you feel it.

Here are three approaches to selecting Mother's Day music:

Traditional approach- the song is specifically highlighting mothers and their role, or expressing love and gratitude to mothers.

Semi-traditional - music is about love, home or teaching children.

Non-traditional - options expand into other gospel virtues exemplified by women, messages of encouragement or sharing specific scriptural examples of righteous women.

Here are 6 options in our store:

Traditional approach:
“Mothers Are Like the Savior” by Izabela Geambașu
Honor the mothers by singing “powerful message about love, sacrifice, and the divine role of mothers.” Can be sung by soloist or children/youth ensemble.

Traditional / semi-traditional
“Traces” by Kristen Bodine Scott
Written in honor of a mother, this song expresses “steady, Christlike love of anyone and everyone that you’ve held dear throughout your life.” Written for a soloist, it could also be sung by a unison group.

Semi-traditional
“Children of Light” by Carrie Yost
The song is sung by children and youth to express the value and role of parents teaching their children about Jesus. It is a new take on the message of Teach Me to Walk in the Light.

Non-traditional (Latter-day Saint specific)
“Two Mothers Strong” by Greg Reece & Daniel Blomberg
This song is a beautiful tribute to the Savior’s earthly and heavenly mothers and their magnificent love. It fits into a general theme of mothers and could be used in a program that weaves together examples of how a mother’s love and sacrifice is truly incredible.

Non-traditional
“Mary’s Boy” by Evelyn Sharp Stanley
This song explores a mother’s love from the perspective of Jesus’ mother Mary, but also the emotions Mary may have felt knowing she was raising the Savior of the World. This would also fit into a general theme of mothers and their sacrifice.

Non-traditional
“Beautiful Life” by Christina Degazio
This song is one of those with a general encouraging Christian message. It tells us to pause and recognize the blessings that abound in our beautiful life.

From Daniel:
"I woke up early on New Years Day 2026 and somehow knew it was time to record my next piano solo album.

As I pored over the different options and selected some wonderful songs, a pattern emerged: these songs teach the truths that 1) God cares for us, provides for us, and gently leads us according to His perfect love and wisdom, and 2) leaning into our relationship with Him brings peace to our lives.

Welcome to “In God’s Care.”

I hope this album brings you peace, strength, and a sense that you are loved and cared for by the Lord."
