🌱 Healthy soil is the secret to healthy plants!

Here are four things I use to give my garden the best start:
✨ Perlite – keeps soil light and airy
✨ Coconut coir – holds water without drowning roots
✨ Compost – full of nutrients and life
✨ Fertilizer – gives plants an extra boost

Strong roots = strong harvests. 💪
Do you use any of these in your garden?

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is one of the most versatile herbs you can grow in South Florida. Intense, aromatic, and evergreen, it thrives year-round in full sun and well-drained soil.

✨ Uses:
• Fresh or dried in cooking (pairs beautifully with potatoes, bread, and roasted veggies) 🍞🥔
• Infuse in oils or vinegar for a fragrant kitchen staple
• Dried bundles make natural air fresheners or smudge sticks

Tip: Prune rosemary regularly to encourage new growth — and don’t be afraid to harvest often. The more you cut, the more it thrives! 🌱

🦟😩 Is anyone else going crazy with the mosquitoes right now?

Here in South Florida, you can’t open the door for two seconds without a swarm coming in. My legs are destroyed, it makes you not even want to go outside. And the worst part is — it’s not just my house. Everywhere you go, it’s the same story.

So today I decided to fight back with what I have: herbs from the garden. 🌿💚 I made a quick, pet-safe mosquito spray, and honestly — it helps. Not perfect, but better than letting mosquitoes win.

Here’s how I made it:
🌱 Rosemary sprigs
🌱 Peppermint
🌱 Orange mint
🌱 Pesto Perpetuo basil
🌱 A few lemon balm leaves

👉 Boil water → turn off → add herbs → cover and steep 10–15 minutes.
👉 Let it cool, strain, and pour into a spray bottle.
👉 (Optional: add 2 tbsp witch hazel for extra staying power).
👉 Store in the fridge and use within a week.

It smells fresh, it’s safe around pets 🐾, and it feels good knowing you can make it with what’s in the garden.

✨ Bonus: You can even add a cup to your mop water or wipe down door frames for extra protection and a fresh-smelling home.

Tell me I’m not the only one suffering with mosquitoes this bad right now?! 😅

Esta mañana encontré a este pequeño disfrutando de mi hinojo de bronce 🐛. Muy pronto se convertirá en una hermosa mariposa cola de golondrina negra.
