Lauren Kelleher first discovered she had a knack for lettering while taking lecture notes in college. She found great satisfaction in creating just the right font style and design to fit the topic and overall mood of the lecture. Shortly after, Lauren realized she really enjoyed lettering on chalkboards and started creating whimsical chalk-lettered party signs for her mom and family friends for va

rious occasions, and for her DIY wedding. After much encouragement from her family and friends, Lauren opened an Etsy shop in 2017: Avonlea Design Co. The inspiration comes from Lucy Maud Montgomery's whimsical, big-hearted, vivacious, imaginative character, "Anne of Green Gables," an orphaned girl from a small town called Avonlea, much beloved by our book-loving founder. Like Anne, Lauren Kelleher loves to celebrate the simple things in life; we hope Avonlea Design Co.
