Why you should wax your skis and snowboards.

There are some really good reasons why you should wax your skis or snowboard.

Speed really matters to racers, and races are won or lost on the flat sections where a faster wax really makes a difference. That’s why racers focus so much on waxing. A fraction of a second can make the difference between winning and losing. For recreational skiers and snowboarders, waxing is also important. Here are a few reasons why.

Wax provides scuff resistance which means waxed bases are less likely to be damaged by rocks, twigs, or other “snow snakes” that cause base damage. If you spend hundreds of dollars on equipment, a small investment in wax will protect your investment and provide better resale value. Faster skis or snowboards don’t make much of a difference when you’re skiing on the groomed runs or ion the steeps.
