With the cooler temps of this week, I decided to make a triple batch of the cinnamon caramels. They just taste like fall and it seems like it might be here already!

Sometimes people think the cinnamon caramels are going to be spicy a la Big Red cinnamon flavor, but these caramels have a softer cinnamon flavor - think the crumble topping on your favorite apple bake. When I smell this cooking in the kitchen I just want my favorite sweater, cuddles with my cats and a warm cup of cider!

While these goodies used to be seasonal just for the fall and winter months, their popularity has grown so much that I keep them stocked year-round. Make sure to pick up a bag (or two, no judgements!) at the Saturday or Sunday markets. Carson Farmers Market from 8:30-1pm and • eat your altitude • from 8-1pm respectively. See you there!!

Wrapping up the popular smoked salt caramels for the markets this weekend! I'll see you Saturday morning 8:30-1 at the Carson Farmers Market in Mills Park in Carson City and Sunday I'll be back at the • eat your altitude • from 8-1. To all those that missed me last week, I'm sorry! I got evacuated Saturday night and couldn't get to my inventory. Luckily, our home and all our animals were safe from the fire but it certainly was a stressful night! My heart goes out to those affected by the fire.

A bucket of deliciousness, this time our Bourbon Pecan Brittle. Half of this bucket is going to the Nevada Flag Store on Glendale, just a stone's throw from my kitchen. The other half? Gone in a weekend of markets at Carson Farmers Market and • eat your altitude • ! It really is the most popular thing I make.

Sorry marshmallow fans! It's officially too hot for me to bring them to the market. Even keeping them cool in my cooler isn't going to cut it as they will melt in your basket and car! I will still have all my brittles (they do fine in the heat as long as they're not in the sun) and caramels (less tolerant but can recover a bit with a trip to the fridge).

Picture of my cats for attention. Their names you ask? Tacocat is the adult grey one, the orange kitten is Dax (and yes, she's the spiciest!) and the tuxedo is Sisko. They are not at all bothered by the heat unlike their owner haha

Did you know that peanut brittle is thought to be the world's first confection? You wouldn't recognize it as we've changed the recipe and techniques over the years but you're still eating a bit of history! Sweet, delicious history 😋

See you at the markets this weekend!

The first step in making all the lavender goodies for the Sierra Nevada Lavender & Honey Festival (coming up on Sunday July 12th!) is making lavender extract. Soon I'll have lavender marshmallows and lavender almond brittle in addition to my lavender caramels.
