Happy new year, friends! We hope you are coming into 2023 with slowness and ease. Our team sure is, by taking a much needed rest for the months of January and February.😴 During this time, we will be meeting as a group and thinking about more intentionality within this space and where we want to see it go. 💫 There are currently no markets scheduled, and our social media presence will be limited! We’re still here in community with you and will be sharing more in the coming months. Be good to yourselves! 💖

When magical q***r people just want to spread q***r cheer…

THAT’S what the holidays are all about.

As an addition to Safe Space’s HoliGay Giveback project, some of RVA’s most incredible g**s are working together to bring kiddos a bit of holiday cheer! We invite you and your family to come snap pics with our Snow Queen, the incomparable Michelle Livigne on Friday evening, and/or with our Space Ship Santa the sweetest-souled Zorro Nova on Saturday! Every kiddo that comes to visit can also snag a holiday gift to take home - thanks to our great pals World of Mirth for helping to supply toys and goodies!

Please spread the word, bring your family and friends to shop with, support, and help us spread q***r cheer!

Get your glitter (and your wallets) ready for a GAY old time!

TOMORROW at Liberty Public House there’ll be 10 local vendors, delicious snacks and festive cocktails, and great music!

PLUS a silent auction with ALL proceeds benefitting our HoliGay Giveback, a project to provide gifts to LGBTQ+, Black, Brown, Indigenous, People of Color, and other historically excluded folks who are in need of some extra support this holiday season.

Just a few of the silent auction items below:

•A “Perfectly Pampered” Self Care basket with locally-made lipgloss from J.Loretta, Dr. Teal’s Bath soak, eye and bum masks, sparkling rosé, and a candle from Intuitive Nature Co.

•Handmade leather clutch from Haus of Jung

•12 Days of Richmond advent calendar from Discover Richmond Tours

•A Take-Home Family Sundae Kit from jiji frozen custard

Our last event at Diversity (on quite possibly the hottest day of 2022) in July was amazing.
You all showed up for Safe Space vendors and we’re asking you to show up again!
Come and shop at Safe Space RVA’s Two Day Winter Market on December 16th 5-9pm and December 17th 12-5pm!
That’s two days to support 40+ Underrepresented makers and artists - including a Youth Market on 12/17, enjoy some great local music, support our project to give holiday gifts to those facing housing or financial hardship, and get grub from two food trucks each day:

We’ll have over 40 vendors, music from and , food trucks and and plenty of fun for kiddos with playgrounds and crafts with Henrico Parks and rec!

Tomorrow will be fun for everyone! Bring the kids, invite your neighbors, or make it a family day! Three Lakes has a huge playground set, and the Parks system will have games and crafts to keep everyone entertained. We have over 40 vendors, so make sure you come out and see everyone! We’ll have music, food, and sunshine. Hope to see you there from 11-3 on Saturday, 11/19!

📣Seeking Young Makers, Artists and Creators!

Safe Space RVA is so excited to hold our first Youth Market during our Winter Market on December 17th at Diversity Richmond!

We’re accepting applications from LGBTQ+/BIPOC/Underrepresented/Ally young folks, ages 8 - 16 years old. All youth must be accompanied by an adult.
