Current standing on the July 1 AWB..... we DO NOT have a clear answer on yesterdays second injunction. There is conflicting information coming from everywhere. Hopefully within the next few days to a week we will know more.

If you have ordered something that will be included in the ban and we receive it after today, we will NOT complete a transfer until it is clear that the injunction applies on the state, federal, and local levels.

We will be closed Friday and Saturday this week but will continue to follow updates and inform you as we know more.

Lots of bad information on this AWB injunction. The injunction only prevents the VSP from enforcing the ban. It does not stop the law from going into effect July 1st or give a FFL the ability to continue to sell or transfer banned items. It is a step in the right direction. But it does not go far enough to stop anything at this time. Online retailers resuming shipping are jumping the gun and until we receive more information do NOT send a transfer that will be included in the ban! You will incur return fees as we cannot accept the transfer.

With the confusion on the “injunction” running amok, we asked the VCDL officers what this meant for FFL’s.

The short answer was:

The law is still on the books.
ATF can revoke a license if dealers do not follow these laws.

This injunction does NOT stop the ban; only the enforcement for State Police; local authorities can choose to enforce or not enforce the ban.

This means that ALL banned items must still be transferred by close of business 6/30/2026.

No dealer will legally be able to sale/transfer a weapon deemed an “Assault Firearm” on 7/1.

Buy it now or forever hold your peace.

We need a FAR better injection than what was granted.

We are all in this fight together.
Give hope; not excuses!

Vcheck is currently down and has been since yesterday afternoon. Some instances we are able to log in and at least submit your background check, other times the system will not let us log at all. If you're coming in today be aware wait times to get any approval (even those who are usually instant) are going to be long.
