Flower Friday 💐

Every Friday I share flower care tips that will help you enjoy flowers in your home for as long as possible!

This week: Echinacea

➡️Re-cut stems and place in clean, fresh water.
➡️Remove petals as they fade, the solid centre will last up to three weeks without them.
➡️Flower food is recommended, and vase water should be changed every 2-3 days.
➡️To Dry: Air dry; hang upside down in small bunches tied with elastic bands, in a cool, airy place.
➡️For a cottage garden look arrange with roses, Veronica or scabious.

Vase Life: 7-10 days
Availability: June-September, peaks June-August.
Colors: Pinky/purple with a burnt orange centre

Flower Friday 💐 (a day late, sorry!)

Every Friday I share flower care tips that will help you enjoy flowers in your home for as long as possible!

This week: Peony

➡️Re-cut stems and stand in clean, fresh water with flower food.
➡️Change water every 2-3 days re-cutting stems every time. They are thirsty flowers, so check vase levels regularly.
➡️Stand in a cool spot to prolong vase life.
➡️Peonies prefer to be placed directly in water; they will wilt quickly if arranged in floral foam.
➡️They are beautiful arranged simply on their own, although a vase filled with stocks and peonies would look, and smell, fantastic.

Vase Life: 5-10 days
Meaning: Bashfulness
Availability: May-July, limited the rest of the year
Colors: White, cream, lemon, peach, apricot, rose pink, deep pink, crimson, burgundy

Flower Friday 💐

Every Friday I share flower care tips that will help you enjoy flowers in your home for as long as possible!

This week: Hyacinth 🪻

➡️ Rinse and re-cut stems, leaving as much of the bulb on as possible.
➡️ Stand in clean, fresh, shallow water which should be replaced every other day.
➡️ Use flower food and mist occasionally to prolong vase life.
➡️ If the flowers become top heavy, a thick wire inserted carefully inside the stem will give extra support.
➡️ Hyacinths look lovely arranged in a simple vase or jug. Add in Anemones for an early spring display.

Vase Life: 7-10 days
Meaning: Playful Joy
Availability: November - May, peaks December-March
Colors: Pure white, cream, salmon, china blue, deep blue, light pink, cerise pink, lilac
