I’ve always been drawn to illustrations that feel like little worlds.

And I love creating them.

Worlds filled with storytelling, symbolism and tiny details. Worlds people can disappear into for a while.

Places to explore, imagine and wander around in when life feels overwhelming. ✨

I started writing down little (and big) things that make me happy, as a reminder to pay more attention to them.

Some are easy to miss:
morning coffee,a good conversation,
my dog doing a tiny jump when he barks,
finding a handwritten note on the street.

Others are bigger; Like realizing how far I’ve come with my mental health.

I decided to turn them into little drawings.
No perfectionism, just drawing.

Recovery leaves a strange gap when old habits no longer serve you, but new ways of living haven’t fully taken their place yet.

Drawing helped fill that space.

It shifted my attention; away from rules, control and fear.

Towards observation, curiosity and creating small worlds where I felt safe. And it still does!

.foundation & .a.couple.having.fun came up with the idea for this card deck, designed to help people slow down and connect outside.

That’s where I came in, I illustrated the deck and translated their idea into a visual that shows connection and nature.

Drawing has always been a safe space for me.
Even in a time where my mind felt really busy
and everything revolved around food and my body, this was something I could come back to.

Lately I’ve felt the need to bring those two together.

So I started an account: wich means about recovery.

It’s in Dutch, and I share my experiences,
diary fragments and what me and others have learned in recovering from an eating disorder.
