I realized recently that I haven't been sharing many customer stories—and I want to change that. Those moments of connection are one of my favorite parts of creating art. I'm also excited to get back to highlighting other amazing small businesses because there are so many wonderful people doing incredible work.
One recent story really touched me.
A customer shared how they used my Wave of Emotion greeting card in a way I never imagined.
This card was designed to help people reach out during life's emotional moments. The front features my painting and the inside message reads...
"When the wave of emotions arrive, so will I"
The idea is for the sender to write ways they can offer support—whether that's "...I'll be there," "...a meal," "...a listening ear," or whatever someone may need. While many people have used it as a sympathy card, I always hoped it would serve a much broader purpose.
Because life is full of moments when we need encouragement, not just after a loss. Starting a new job, welcoming a baby, facing a diagnosis... or sending a child off to college.
That's exactly how this customer used it.
She and her husband gave it to their child as a graduation card before leaving for college. I absolutely loved that idea. It was such a thoughtful reminder that no matter what emotions come with this new chapter, they're not facing them alone.
I love hearing how people make my artwork their own. Sometimes my customers show me a purpose I never would have imagined, and that's one of the greatest gifts of being an artist.
If you'd like to see Wave of Emotion or any of my other paintings, greeting cards, and gifts, stop by the International Marketplace at the Shops of West End.
