Alteliér is a mother-daughter studio built around the things we’ve always loved: beautiful clothes, old textiles, slow fashion, and making something with our own two hands.
Cheryl has spent 35 years behind the sewing machine, specializing in bridal and alterations. She has constantly been creating and laid the foundation for what we have created today. Alaena grew up in that world and eventually found her own way into it. Drawn to vintage textiles, upcycling, unexpected details, and the idea that clothing doesn’t have to be disposable to be beautiful.

Together, we created Alteliér as a place where clothing gets a second life, creativity gets a little room to wander, and the old and new can exist side by side.

An atelier, a studio, a place to gather and a mother-daughter collaboration built one stitch at a time.
We believe clothing should be made with intention, worn with personality, and kept around long enough to collect a few stories of its own.

Alaena had Altelièr covered for the day, so I (Cheryl) took the day off! Days off for me are typically not completely non-work related-but still fun! I took a solo trip to the Twin Cities and visited a whole bunch of shops that I’ve wanted to get to for months now! Some were familiar favorites and others were first time visits:
