Picked up a tray of freshly potted Syngonium and one of them started moving. 😳 Wasn’t the plant — it was the frog living inside it. 🐸

Friday Favorite: Patricia

Named this one this morning 😂 and already regretting it, because now she has a personality. Meet Patricia, a Madagascar Jewel (Pachystachys/Jacobinia-type..ish) 🤷🏼‍♀️

She came from a coworker of mine — also a nurse — and Patricia the plant is named after Patricia the human😆, who was given her original plant from a patient almost 20 years ago. 😍🪴

She needs to be repotted. I’ve known this for a while. I’m trying not to think about it, because I will absolutely mess her up and then have to live with that.

Fun fact: this plant spits seeds. ☄️ Like, actually launches them. No warning, no consent, just seeds flying across the greenhouse. ✌️

Last week’s Friday Favorite, finally getting posted 🤷🏼‍♀️— the rabbit’s foot fern 🐇. Lacy fronds and fuzzy rhizomes that creep over the pot edge. 😍

Went out to the greenhouse to do something productive this afternoon. I found a mystery black slime on the floor, grabbed the only cleaning supply within reach — H2O2. 👩🏼‍🔬Halfway through spraying it down I realized my hand needed it more than the floor (thanks Maw Maw 😉). Moved a few things into the new greenhouse two days ago. 😬

Hot and humid out there. Found a place to cool off — right in front of the exhaust fan. Just need a chair and a cold drink.
