Mexico, the MOTHERLAND OF CORN🌽🇲🇽
Standing in the Museum of Anthropology, surrounded by ancient maíz artifacts, I couldn’t stop thinking about the patience it took. Thousands of years ago, civilizations nurtured a wild grass🌾 into the corn that would feed the world🌎
I spent days exploring the streets of Mexico City 🌆🚶🏻♀️
Corn is on nearly every street corner: Tacos, elote, esquites. Menus: tortillas, tamales, elotes, tlacoyos, atole, and countless other foods that have been shared for generations.
And yes! popcorn (palomitas) has its place too!🍿
Every batch of popcorn I make starts with a story that began in Mexico over 9,000 years ago. As someone whose livlihood is built on popcorn, this felt less like a vacation and more like paying my respects🌽🇲🇽❤️
