One of the things I love most is growing my own plants and herbs.
Caring for them brings us back to the Earth and gives us something living to cultivate, nurture, and watch grow beyond the busyness of everyday life.
Some plants feed us, some support us spiritually and emotionally, and some are simply beautiful but each one adds something special to our home. In the mornings, I step outside barefoot onto the wet grass, listen to the birds, thank the Earth and the plants, and pick a few leafs to sweeten my coffee.
As I stir, I offer a prayer of gratitude and speak well wishes over myself and the day ahead. That doesn’t feel like a chore to me. It feels like connection, intention, and life moving in a beautiful cycle and perhaps that is some of the everyday magic many of us have been missing.
Today I want to share Stevia with you. She’s a natural sweetener🌿
Simply wash a leaf from an edible stevia plant, gently tear or crush it, and let it steep in your hot coffee or tea for a few minutes. Remove the leaf and enjoy! You can also dry the leaves, grind them into a fine powder, and use just a tiny pinch.
Stevia is surprisingly sweet, so start with one leaf and adjust from there. Make sure your plant hasn’t been treated with chemicals that aren’t safe for edible plants…
Grow your own!
