A routine appointment became a lifesaving moment for Lester Meier, a Hill Country cattle rancher and longtime rodeo producer.

Before a pain management procedure, standard pre-procedure monitoring revealed an unexpected heart rhythm concern. That finding led to additional testing, a diagnosis and care from Dr. Joseph Wu, a board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist with Methodist Hospital | Hill Country, who implanted a leadless pacemaker to help protect Lester’s heart.

Today, Lester is back to working cattle alongside his wife and feeling better.

Kylie spends plenty of time in the show barn showing pigs, but she stays busy on the competition side of FFA too. She competes with our Senior Chapter Conducting LDE team and Wool Judging CDE team.

We’re excited to have Kylie helping capture our chapter’s memories and history this year!
