My heart is so gripped by the generosity of a $14.00 check! Not a $14,000 check, not a $140,000 check. Not a $1,400,000 check.
A $14.00 check from a brother in an incarceration facility who chose to tithe to our church.
We broadcast to over 450 incarceration facilities around the country, and through technology men and women are able to watch our sermons on an “issued tablet” that allows them to listen to music, movies, and sermons.
I literally get hundreds of handwritten letters from my new brothers and sisters in Christ who either want us to write their name on our salvation wall, which we call the LOST FOUND PARTY WALL, or share their testimony or prayer request.
This time, my brother sent me a $14.00 check as a tithe off money that either was given to him by family to buy ci******es or books, etc., or the small pension made inside the prison for labor provided. I honestly don’t fully know how this works, but what I do know is this is radical generosity. This is the heart of what giving looks like! I am so humbled by this!
He was faithful to give back to the Lord what the Lord has blessed him with.
I am so moved by this check!
This spirit, this heart! Not because of the money, but because of the spirit behind the gift.
My heart is sooooooo moved by this. I know this blesses our King.
This is the widow’s mite story in today’s time!
It’s not the amount, it’s the heart behind the amount.
I love our church! I love our people.
Lord, keep giving us people who are overlooked, passed up, written off, who have sinned so badly, so that by Your grace, we can champion them to be the good news of Jesus in this world!
