Expert Fretwork Instrument Repair

Expert Fretwork Instrument Repair Providing the greater Los Angeles area with top tier stringed instrument repair! In addition to this job, I was hired full time to work at Glaser Instruments.

I’ve been a guitar technician for over 18 years, starting with tinkering on my own stuff around 14 years old. After high school, I went to GIT in Hollywood, California, and after graduating from the program I decided to take their Guitar Craft Academy course. I learned instrument design, fabrication, and repair and graduated top of my class. I’ve made a living in Luthiery ever since, both in repai

r and in building guitars. Shortly after moving back home to Cincinnati, Ohio, I started working for Guitar Center as a full time repair technician. Over the next 5 years, I built GC Cincinnati into a $10,000/month revenue stream from my repair services, eventually being promoted to manage the repair staff of our district, from Cleveland down to Louisville and over to Pittsburgh, with 12 stores and 15 technicians reporting to me.

In 2017, I was hired as an instructor at the Guitar Craft Academy that opened in Nashville. While there, I learned PLEK machine operation and fretwork from the master himself, Joe Glaser, and his wonderfully talented crew of technicians. I was fortunate enough to work on instruments for Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Bela Fleck, Tom Petersson, Tommy Emmanuel, Joe Bonamassa, Kings of Leon, Audley Freed, Keith Urban, Guthrie Trapp, John Cowan, Victor Wooten, Reb Beach, and countless other wonderfully talented musicians in the studio session scene. Specializing in vintage instrument restoration and repair, we worked on some of the premier examples of guitars and basses from the 1940’s to today, routinely seeing 1950’s Les Pauls, 1950’s and 60’s Fenders, 1940’s Gibson and Martin acoustics, you name it and we fixed it. After a year of working for Joe, I was offered a position running Repairs and Warranty Services for Swee Lee Music, Asia’s largest music retailer and distributor, with stores in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia, as well as dealerships in China and Brunei. I operated under the name Well Played Gear as a partnership with Swee Lee Music. After 3 1/2 years of life in Asia, dealing with the 2020 pandemic over there, it was time to come back to the United States. In May of 2021 we relocated to San Diego, California. I was offered a job at Taylor Guitars as a part of their in-house repair team.

Hey folks, long-time-no-post. Life has obviously changed a lot for me since September. For those of you that aren't in the know yet, I've relocated back to Nashville to accept a luthier position for on the repair team. I’m part of a really phenomenal crew over there that does some of the best repair work in the country.
I've been here since December 2025, but haven't made a post yet outside of story updates.
For today's post, I bring you a doozy. This one is a side re-attachment and top re-attachment on a 1950's SJ. No clue how it got into the state it came to us in, but I was happy to tackle the restoration for the consigner so they can get the guitar sold. Now that it's back in one piece, it's an absolute cannon.

The cat's out of the bag today, so I’m delighted to finally share some up close and personal photos of the Rampage 24K I built earlier this year for none other than !!
Incorporating a recessed system, and a really stunning graphic from to help complete the look, I took the reins and built this guitar from start to finish. We should be posting a full behind the scenes video of the process so everyone can see how the sausage is made.
The Rampage 24 is one of my favorite instruments to make at G&L. I built a special blacked out variant for NAMM '25 earlier this year, and I was hoping as we got closer to the official release of the standard production model I'd get to whip up a fun one for Jerry himself.
Roasted alder body, nicely flamed maple neck, ebony fretboard. The pickup is a hand wound humbucker made by us here at the factory. It's a badass rock machine for sure.

After seeing the Teletrem at the 2022 NAMM show, I was hooked immediately. Love the entire concept of that bridge, and thought it was a really clever way to do a T style guitar with a T style bridge and still incorporate a trem. So when Griffin at hit me up with the idea to do an ASAT Bluesboy with one, I was all about it immediately. I love the way Eddie's styled this build and was very happy to bring their concept to life. This guitar rips.

The SB model bass is my absolute favorite we make. It's a sleeker, sexier P-bass. This one is my take on the classic P/J, built for in St. Louis. Really killer flame top, probably one of my favorite bursts I've sprayed to date. I couldn't put this thing down yesterday after assembly.

It's G&L's 45th anniversary this year, and I wanted to put together a build to commemorate that with a special color. The standard factory did a run of 45th anniversary models using a special mix of blue sapphire metallic paint. To make mine stand out, I did a sapphire blue fade over a flame top, with the sapphire metallic on the back and sides.

I forgot to take pictures of this one in my usual style after assembly, propped up on my bench. These are the glamour shots we took before shipping it out to the dealer that bought it, in Maplewood, Missouri. I had a lot of fun painting this one, and had been wanting to do a tiger striped Rampage for a while. I was also itching to get a look at a Rampage model with the revived Interceptor headstock shape.

Of course, the Star build would get lonely without a sibling, so I also built a jazz bass decked out in 70's vibes to go along with it. is going to be blinged out like crazy with these two instruments. All the 70's disco vibes with this thing. Can't wait to see them in action!

Some of you may have seen me teasing this in my story posts over the last couple months. This is a replica build of a guitar made for ABBA back in the day, built for the guitarist of to use in their show!
I gave the body a few modifications from the original to make it a bit more of a player friendly instrument. And we added the LED killswitch from (huge shoutout to Rob at Tesi Switch for helping me troubleshoot that install!)
It's gonna be on stage this week! It's off to NYC today! Godspeed, most ridiculous thing I've ever built. Godspeed.

I planned these builds last year and just haven't got around to them quite yet, but this is the beginning of a series I call American Muscle. I took a look at some of the coolest classic American muscle car paint jobs and chose to adapt them onto the Legacy HH platform, both with Floyd trems and hardtail variants. They're no frill, rock machines. These two are especially near and dear to me.
Inspired by two legendary Mustang variants, the 1966 Shelby GT350, and the 1967 Shelby GT500 fastback.
Special features include aluminum side dots, face dots, and cavity covers to gel with the old school car vibe. The necks are both Birdseye maple, with an oil finish to keep it feeling smooth and playing great.
