A Small Mark With a Meaningful Purpose 📖

I’ve spent quite a bit of time considering how I could elevate the artistry of my rebinds and make each one even more meaningful.

I didn’t want it to simply be a logo or a maker’s mark. I wanted it to represent why I do this work in the first place and, in some small way, make each rebind that much more meaningful when it is placed back into the hands of its owner.

This new Ryan’s Rebinds stamp will be stamped directly into the liner leather of the Bibles I rebind. It’s a small detail… something that may not immediately catch your eye, but one that I hope will serve as a lasting reminder of the care and purpose behind the craftsmanship.

The cross and sword are intentional. They point back to the very thing these Bibles contain: The Word of God.

But there’s another part of the stamp that carries just as much weight:

Preserve the Word: That God’s Word can continue to be held, read, studied, preached, and passed down.

Proclaim the Truth: The Word of God isn’t meant to simply sit on a shelf or remain closed. We are called to open it, live it, share it, and proclaim its truth to others.

Christ gave His disciples a charge that extends to every believer:

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”
Matthew 28:19 KJV

The Great Commission reminds us that the Gospel is something we are commanded to take beyond ourselves. We are to proclaim Christ to others.

That’s why “Preserve the Word. Proclaim the Truth.” means more to me than simply a ministry tagline.

Every Bible I rebind has its own story. Some have been carried for decades. Some are filled with handwritten notes, prayers, memories, and passages that have encouraged someone through the greatest moments and hardest seasons of life.

When I receive one of those Bibles, I’m not simply rebinding a book. I’m helping preserve something deeply personal to its owner.

That’s why the details matter.

From the leather and stitching, to the ribbons, tooling, stamping, and now this mark inside the cover. I want every part of the rebind to have purpose.

My hope is that when the Bible is finally placed back into the customer’s hands, they don’t just see a beautifully restored Bible. They see something that was crafted specifically for them, and a reminder of the responsibility we each have to know God’s Word and proclaim its truth.

And years from now, when the cover has been worn from use and the Bible has continued to be opened, studied, preached from, prayed over, and carried through life, I hope this little mark serves as a reminder:

Preserve the Word. Proclaim the Truth.

NOT FOR SALE

Nothing warms my heart more than seeing someone gift a Bible to a family member. Most often, it’s a parent giving one to a child, a brother to a sister, or another loved one. But there’s something especially meaningful when the gift is given to a parent.

I’d like to think it’s a reflection of a child who was raised according to God’s Word.

Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

It also reminds me of the responsibility God gives to parents:

Ephesians 6:4 (KJV)
“And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

How special it is to see a son or daughter present the most precious gift we have the privilege of holding and reading—the very Word of God. A Bible is more than leather, paper, and ink. It is the truth that points us to Christ, strengthens our faith, and endures forever.

It is an honor to have a small part in preserving God’s Word so it can continue to proclaim the Truth for generations to come.

The cross is more than a design. It is the message.

Every Bible I rebind is crafted with one purpose in mind. To preserve God’s Word so it can continue to proclaim the Truth for generations to come. While the rich red leather and hand-tooled cross may first catch the eye, my greatest desire is that the Word within continues to point hearts to Jesus Christ. The beauty of the cover will fade with time, but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

“But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.”
— Galatians 6:14 (KJV)

Just when I think I’ve rebound one of the smallest Bibles I’ll ever see, someone else comes to me and says, “I’d like my Bible rebound, but it’s small.”

I took one look at it and thought, “Well… yeah, it’s small.”

Then came the surprise.

It wasn’t just a New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs in the back, it was a complete Bible.

Measuring only 3” × 4⅝”, it’s incredible to think that the entire Word of God fits into something so small. It’s a reminder that the power of Scripture isn’t measured by its size, but by the God who inspired it.

It was a true honor to rebind this Bible for a brother in Christ from our church.

One of the greatest blessings of this work is seeing how the Holy Spirit speaks through God’s Word to His people. As I carefully worked through these pages, I couldn’t help but notice the personal notes written throughout or underlined verses, circled verse numbers. These are reminders of God’s faithfulness, truths that stood out, prayers answered, and lessons learned.

Those handwritten notes are more than ink on a page; they are a testimony of a life being shaped by the Scriptures.

Thank you for trusting me with a Bible that holds so much meaning. It is a privilege to help preserve God’s Word so it can continue to be read, studied, and proclaimed for generations to come.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from our family to yours. 🇺🇸

Today we thank God for the freedoms we enjoy and remember those who have answered the call to defend them. We are especially grateful for the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, with honor, courage, and sacrifice.

As a military family, we know that freedom isn’t free. It has always come at a cost, paid by those willing to stand in the gap for others.

May we never take for granted the blessings of liberty or forget the One from whom every good gift comes.

God bless our service members, our veterans, their families, and the United States of America.

Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Here is the big reveal…. 👀👀👀

This Bible holds a special place in my heart.
It was crafted for my Commanding Officer. A man who not only talks the talk but truly walks the walk. He exemplifies servant leadership, understanding that people are what make the mission successful.

I’ve often told him that you can’t fake caring about people. Either you do or you don’t. He genuinely cares for those he leads, and it’s evident in every decision he makes and every interaction he has.

It has been a true honor to craft this Bible for someone whose faith, character, and leadership have had such a meaningful impact on the Marines and Sailors around him.

Thank you, Sir, for leading with humility, integrity, and a servant’s heart. It has been a privilege to serve under your leadership. I pray this Bible will continue to encourage you as you faithfully lead those entrusted to your care.

Sneak Peek 👀

A special Bible is currently on the workbench, and this one means a little more than most. I can’t wait to share the finished project and, even more so, to see the reaction of the individual who will receive it.

Stay tuned! This is one you’ll want to see.

It still amazes me how much the Lord has blessed me through the ministry and craft of Bible rebinding.

When I look back at some of my earlier projects and compare them to the work I’m doing today, I’m reminded that growth comes one step at a time. Every Bible has taught me something new, and each one seems to turn out a little better than the last.

This corner detail may seem small, but moments like this remind me how far the Lord has brought me. What started as a desire to preserve His Word has become an opportunity to serve others, meet wonderful people, and help give new life to Bibles that will continue to be read, studied, preached, and treasured for years to come.

“And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.” — Psalm 90:17 (KJV)

I am grateful for every customer, every Bible entrusted to my care, and most of all for the Lord’s continued guidance and blessing.
