Sewing day one of Noodlehead Academy had everyone working on their Range Backpacks. Super fun work today! Sharon is returning to sewing after a break and really enjoyed herself. She is already planning her next backpack.
Markey was excited to see her red and grey fabric come to life as a backpack. Her machine was humming all day!
Nice work today ladies.

New fabrics in this morning. We thought they would make a fantastic summer bag. If you ever bought a Vera Bradley bag, this fabric is very similar to that style. This is Kipling Gardens by Lily Ashbury made by Riley Blake.

Some new Charley Harper came in

05/29/2026

We are fully jammed to the rafters with sewing machine repairs. We are trying to keep our timeline down to a week, however, with the rate that they are coming in, it is impossible to stay on top of them.

Starting June 1, machine services will start at $115 (still the least expensive in town). I like to keep servicing affordable because it is important to have it done regularly.

I have recently gotten a LOT of really really neglected machines, and for those, I cannot promise a quick turnaround. I have two soaking in solvent right now to get their gears unvarnished and moving freely again.

If I cannot locate a part, or if a part is cost prohibitive, I cannot guarantee a completion date at all. Sometimes, it doesn't make sense to spend $275 for a power supply to keep a $350 machine going. I give the option of continuing to look for a used part and hope for the best, or to return the machine.

As always, if I cannot repair a machine, I will not charge a service fee. And, in that same vein, if a machine continues to have the same problem I have fixed, I will return your money and you are free to take it anywhere else, whether for repair or a trade in.

The level of stress that comes from a never ending stream of really dirty work is more than I can handle some days. I also have a queue of quilts that has deadlines and I have only been able to take one day per week to work on those, which ends up disappointing those customers.

At this point in time, I am working 7 days a week, and I should not be disappointing ANYONE, but I do. So, moving forward, I'll be out of the store more, in order to work on service orders (quilts and machines) until I can move another longarm into the store and manage a workbench separate from the classroom. We just grew a little too fast.

Stay tuned, because it WILL get better.
