Join us at the UC San Diego Craft Center for an evening of creativity, learning, and beautiful floral design through the art of Ikebana.

We’ll explore simple, beautiful design techniques — and you’ll take home your own unique arrangement!

All materials are provided — just please bring your own garden scissors.

It was wonderful to gather, enjoy some flowers, and get creative together in such a warm and inviting space. The vibrant yellow chrysanthemums and red gladiolus made each arrangement full of color and energy.

There is something deeply grounding about spending a Monday afternoon focusing on the placement of a single branch. Each arrangement tells its own unique story of balance, simplicity, and elegance. 🌸

Ikebana International Teachers’ Showcase — September in Balboa Park, San Diego 🌸

A beautiful gathering of Ikebana teachers coming together to share their creativity and love of Japanese floral art. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate different expressions of Ikebana and the beauty of the season.

For my arrangement, I combined fall colors and natural textures with a container that I brought back from my grandmother’s home in Japan. 🇯🇵❤️

So grateful to be part of this inspiring Ikebana community.

What a fun afternoon of Ikebana in Poway, CA! This arrangement combines graceful horsetail, elegant sword fern, and vibrant yellow chrysanthemums. The strong vertical lines of the horsetail contrast beautifully with the soft, full blooms of the yellow mums, creating a simple yet dynamic expression of nature.
